                                                                   The Bird Feed

#1 Why did you chose your Railbird.com screen name/ what does it mean?

It was a mix between the old mob saying "Sleeps with the fishes" and some poker terminology.  AKA "the fish"  Also a play on the popular meal, Fish n' Chips.

#2 How many hours each day/week spent playing poker on?

Probably a few hours a night and a couple extra on weekends

#3 How would you define your style of play?

Observant and reactive.

#4 Poker Achievements?

Mostly live tourney wins..  I won my first Full Tilt fantasy freeroll a few years back for $250.  That is probably my biggest tourney win online.  Live is another story.

#5 How did you get involved with poker?

I've been playing 5 card draw as long as I can remember.

I was pretty well versed in the basics by the time the poker boom hit.  I had also played live before this.  Online came naturally, as did new depths in the thought process.

#6 Which pro would you like to face in a HU match and why?

It wouldn't matter.  I guess I would have to say Doyle, just to say that I had the chance.

#7 How have you improved your game?

Basically my thought process has changed over the years.  It used to be purely for the adrenaline, win or lose.  Now it's more for fun and relaxation.  It's observing others patterns and habits, and trying to out think them.

#8 Who if any online pro's do you look up too?

Anyone who can consistently maintain and increase their roll.  Big names got their somehow.  It's all about patience and consistency.  To be honest, I would be more scared of the names you don't hear all the time, yet they are still running the higher stakes games.  Sleepers.

#9 What goals do you have as a poker player in the next 6 month's ?

To maintain and increase my roll.  To not have to deposit.  To get back into my live game a little more.  Maybe take down a deep stack game live.

#10 What would you consider a weakness in your game/ something you need to improve?

I would consider it a weakness telling people my leaks so they could exploit them.

#11 What would you say is the best online or live game you are skilled at ?

10 game and 5 card draw online and flhe/nlhe/plo/plo8 live

#12 What are some typical "TELLS" that a online player is bluffing ?

overly aggro c bets on a weak flop.  changing aggression patterns throughout a hand.  min betting on a draw heavy board, etc.

#13 How has Railbirds.com helped your game play?

It gives me someone to talk to about my game that understands the thought processes behind moves and plays.  It allows for a more challenging game with regulars that help you maintain discipline.

#14 What poker books have you read , and have they helped your game ?

Let There Be Range is conceptually excellent, yet hard to impliment into your game.  It takes years of work to achieve the true depth of the book.  I am always working on these concepts, but it is an ongoing process.

#15 What will would you say was the best preformance in 2011 for you ?

Just winning a few private games online.  Live winning first in a decent tourney.
