Played a ton of poker as a kid (started at age '4'
, then got right involved in bigger money games as a young teen (mostly 7-card stud & 5-card stud back then,... and in crazier moments, 'stooker & guts',... BlackJack & Craps as well,... a buddy's house had a room set up with a poker and a craps table, his father was a regular in Vegas in the 70's).
Got away from the 'poker scene' for a number of years after a big loss on one night. Playing heads-up 5-card stud on a New Year's Eve, I lost $4,500 in less than 15mins. That night, 'enough was enough' for me.
No more wagering of any $$ on anything period. No more poker period!
Got the poker bug again a few years back.....
Onto my online poker experience --- very first night playing I signed up for the 'Ferguson', thinking it was a 'Winner take All'. 5hrs.15mins. later I finished in 2nd and was super surprised when a window popped up on my puter screen, telling me I'd just won $114.73 (2nd of 943). YES,... I was hooked again!!
'The Plan',... I'll just dick around on the $1 & $2 sngs and Mtt's. 'The Plan' changed quickly..... lol
Since then I've probably cut through at least one poker book per week ---- Harrington series, Phil Gordons' books, Sklansky's,...... (the list goes on) .
Best day on Railbirds.....winning two Railbird freerolls on the very same day (June 7/08) - 1st place in the Railbirds 'Quiz Winner $250 freeroll' and then 1st place in the Railbirds NLHE freeroll on Stars later that same night.
Funnest day on Railbirds..... playing the Railbirds freeroll on Pokerstars (Sept.12) beside tilt-a-kitty and then placing 17th & 18th in the same tourney!!!
