My goal in online poker is to accumulate a bankroll from freeroll tournaments, and never deposit any of my own funds. I have been lucky enough to win a few of these tournaments so now I am able to participate in cash tournaments. I’ve highlighted a few of my victories below. I know keeping a small bankroll intact is a very challenging but fun endower. If I ever lose my bankroll I will try to build it back up by playing freerolls again. I find this community a fun place to meet very good and like minded people. And If I can be of help to you please ask. The only exception is that I never ask anyone for money and I don’t like being asked for money. Other than that let me know how I can be of help to you.
- February 25th, 2007 Cashed at my first ever $10+1 re-buy tournament. I invested $21 and cashed $45.50.
- March 5th, 2007 Won my first railbird freeroll at the Omahi Hi game. Too bad it wasn't ranked but a win is a win is a win.
- March 9th, 2007 Earned a $26 satellite token last night. Used it to enter $24+2 19,000 gaurantee tournament made to 115/800 and cashed for $39.40. First cash at that level
- March 15th past two night I entered and won 2 $26 satellite token. I entered the 26K gaurantee at 8 PM both nights. Last night I finished 371/1200+ and didn't cash, but tonight I finished 60/1202 and cashed. For the two night total I spent $8.80 on 9 man $4+.40 sng's for tokens and cashed $69.23 for a profit of $60.43.
- March 28th,2007 Not a bad day it could have been better played three $2.25 Hold'em sng's placed 2nd twice and won one. That made a profit of $11. Unfortunately also lost two tournaments one for $1 and the other $5.50 horse tournament which I had a good showing and played well, but bubbled. It should have been a cash and I was in position to strike but made a mistake in a crutial hand. All in all a positive day.
- April 9th,2007 After being away for a little more than a week I got the chance to play poker again. Did well in tonights RB freeroll unfortunately made a bad mistake that kept me short stacked and just missed going to the final table. for the first time I was able to hang in the $5.50 Horse sit and go's. I played in three of these and finished 2nd,3rd,3rd. Lost two $2.25 tournies but finished the day with a profit of $10.
- April 10th, 2007 Kept my string of $5.50 horse sit n go's alive. I entered two $5.50 horse sit n go's today and finished 2nd in one and won the other. However, I lost in a $5.50 horse MTT later on in the night. Finished the day with a good profit though.
- April 24th, 2007 There maybe hope after all. What a lousy three weeks it has been. I don't think online poker is rigged but I hope the congress does not allow them to operate in the United States freely unless they adjust their software to ressemble the live deck as much as it's possible. Poker players should support PPA but they must demand that the poker sites clean up their act. I simply don't see why decks should be shuffled every time the cards are dealt out of the deck that's not poker it's bingo. Finally I was able to win a $4.40 9 man sit n go and made a $26 token. I will see how best to use it perhaps I will try to get into the 400K with it this weekend. All in all despit the lossing streak I am still in good shape, but I have to work on the mental aspect the next few days.
- June 18th, 2007 It has been a while since i posted here, but I was real busy, and I have been going through some bad beats. However, seems like things are on a up swing. Placed 6th and 37th on ranking freerolls yesterday good for $10 not bad for zero dollars in investments. Hopefully the losing streak is coming to end soon. I have been trying to get a bankroll going in Pokerstars but I'm only up to 97 cents so far. My best advice to people that are going through down times is to reduce your buy-ins to the lowest levels, and get your confidence back before you lose it all. Hopefully, I will have plenty to post up here real soon.
- June 25th, 2007 over the weekend, I played on the $1 ranking and came in 7th i think it paid $7+, also finished 21st on one of the freeroll rankings in ftp, and ranked in two others. Not bad show so far, trying to work my way out of the slump.
- July 1st,2007. All in all June was not a bad month. I am still not making profit like I was during the early parts of the year. But, I did make a comeback on the ranked freerolls, and earned 3127.34 points. I started the month ranked 343rd and this was enough points to take me to the top 30 for the year, and maybe top 10 for the month. I did fail in my attempt to gain more points on the last two ranking rolls, but I guess it was expected. My attempt to make a sizeable bankroll in Pokerstars is still a work in progress, but it's coming along at a pace that is acceptable given the limited resources. My main problem is that I am used to the blind structure in FTP and I don't make the adjustments from one site to the other yet.
- July 3rd,2007. Well we got shut out of FTP tonight. And, so I thought to play some at PS and try to make that bankroll I have promissed myself I was going to have in PS. I decided to risk $1.10 of my $2.59 bankroll and entered a 45 man sattelite SnG into sunday's 100K Gaurantee and made it. So next few day become very critical, tommorow night at 8:10 PM I will have a chance at the $2000 fantacy freeroll as well. So hopefully I'll be able to play some good poker.
- July 4th 2007. Reached my goal for the day. Finally a very good day. Came in 7th at the fantacy freeroll #33, and made $60. Also, qualified for the tournament being held July 29th at 4.10 PM. This is a tournament for top 10 finishers on each fantacy freeroll plus the top 100 players in points. We will be competing for a seat at 2008 WSOP. But, for now paded my bankroll $60, and I still have 3 more of these fanatcy freerolls to go.
- July 8th,2007. A long long wait is over. I have finally qualified for a big sunday tournament again. As a matter of fact earlier in the week I qualified for 100K in Pokerstars, and today I qualified for 500K gaurantee in Fulltilt poker. I went ahead and unregistered from the 100K and I will concentrate on the 500K tonight. This is a wonderful opportunity, and again I hope I will play real good poker tonight.
- July 9th, 2007. Well, I played good poker most of the tournament, and finished 422/3008 which was good enough to cash for $270. A much needed boost to my bankroll.
- July 13th, 2007. Entered the 50-50 last night. Details are in the blog titled,"my 50-50 review". Finsihed 48/1067 and earned almost $140. ***Today I entered a 90 ppl 10+1 SnG. I played well and finished 3rd and made $99. I am not proud of the last play though, should have laid it down. Tonight at 8.10 is the second of the $2000 freerolls. I hope that I will play good poker again. ***This is the third entry for today, well I finished 2nd in the fantacy freeroll, and made $220. Very very profitable day.
- July 16th, 2007. Well after growwing my bankroll 3 fold last week, I have hit a little snag. However, all is not bad because I am staying within my bankroll. Yesterday I added $30 via the two Fantacy freerolls. I think I would have done better, but I had to play them at the same time. This made up for my daily double loss the night before. Which I lost both of them within two minutes of each other on the bubble. I simply need more practice playing 2 tournaments at the same time. This morning I made a $26 token via a $8.80 satellite, and entered the $7000 gauranteed at 10 AM. I didn't play bad, but all my good hands were forced all in, and I lost them all. Looks like there're more donkls at the $24+2 level than there are on $10+1 I wonder why.
- July 20th, 2007. Yesterday I entered four tournaments. I entered the 7K for 24+2 and finished out of money, then I tried PL Hold'em 3Kgaurantee for 24+2 and almost made it to the final table, but I cashed. Made a little bit of money because there were only 154 entrants. Later on I saw the $3.30 rebuy and entered that, I saw what was going on and after busting out I chose not to re-buy. Instead I entered the $24+2 $28K gauranteed at 10 PM, and made it to top 127 and cashed again. I believe I was in the position on both of the $26 tournaments to make a showing but I am still getting used to the lay of the land on these higher buy-ins. For now just creating an image and cashing is a step forward.****This morning I entered the 7K gaurantee again for 24+2 buy-in and finished 28/445.***
- July 22nd,2007. Played the daily double again in ftp, busted out of the B very early, but finished 24th in the A. Very good showing in this tournament and made $64.
- July 30th, 2007. Well, after a going through some down time during the past week, I hit pay dirt again. Of course, yesterday was the day that I played in the 2008 wsop ME freeroll, I started out good, but early in the second hour my aggressive style cost me and I was out of the tournament. Later on I entered a $10+1 tournament, and finished 3/360. I had every opportunity to win, unfortunately the critical final hand did not go my way. I earned $432. This is in terms of dollar amounts added to my bankroll is my biggest win. However, the $535 I won last year remains the highest, but that was all in entrace fee and was not added to my bankroll. I will still let the greatest win thing ride on my page, and use it as an insentive to get a bigger win to replace it.
- July 31st, 2007. I played in the daily double again last night. I bubbled out in the daily double A. Made a very bad aggressive play, with a shorter stack, I should have cashed in A. However, ended up finishing 14th in the daily double B, and made $108.
- August 3rd, 2007. Well I finally double cashed in the daily double last night. went deep into both tournaments and finished 42/1314 in A and 26/1118 in B. I had every opportunity to actually make it into the final table in both events. But, a combination of inexperience with two tournaments, and being too tired played a part and I became too aggressive, and made a few bad moves. I made $35.48 on A, $52.55 on B and $32.45 for double cashing.
- August 8th, 2007. Last night I played the daily double again. And again I double cashed. I did better in DD A which I went deep into the tournament, but busted out of DD B shortly after cashing. Could have done better with this opportunity, something to build on though.
- August 20th, 2007. Back to back double cash nights this past weekend. Saturday evening I came in 57th and 85th on daily double. And, last night came in 143rd and 52nd. I would like to improve on my finishes, but I haven't broken one through yet. I feel confident that if I just keep playing on these daily doubles, I will eventually turn in a very good if not an exeptional performance. This brings my total double cashes to 4 so far. On the bad side is the fact that I failed to qualify for any FTOPS V events. I really did try hard, but was unable to make it in. ALthough I came within one spot of qualifying for the avatar race, but it was just not meant to be.
- September 4th,2007. My fifth double cash on the daily double. Last night I played well and survived through some bad beats to double cash again. However, I became too aggressive after double cashing and did not read my opponets well. This in my view cost me a much bigger pay day. I am happy that a two week down turn in mtt's is over though. And, may explain why I was a little too aggressive after cashing. Simply put I need to play better poker on the ladder stages of these mtt's. I made propper adjustments, however, by adjusting I tend to forgo my read. But, the double cash was a much needed boost to my bankroll. I have also made some changes in the games I play. I have started to play limit hold'em, and HORSE ring games. Mostly on buttom levels. I find these games to be profitable. I can not believe so many people in here put down the limit games. But, those freerollers looking to pad their hard earned freeroll dollars, all I have to say is, "go limit young man/woman". For those that like to become students of this game limit poker is a must.
