Well I've been married since 1992. I have a 19 yr old daughter, 14 yr old daughter, and a 10 year old son/ I also have a 19 month grandaughter. Grandchildren are great. I am a retail sales manager and I've been in the shoe business for 19 years. They call me the All Bundy of Kentucky. I've been playing on line poker for about 3 years, ever since all the large TV coverage and craze started. I only played with play chips and will never use any of my money to make a deposit. Calculating Pot Odds

The concept of pot odds is easy to learn and in my opinion is one of the most important concepts of playing winning poker, especially no limit hold'em.

It's simply, the relationship, expressed as a ratio, between the size of the bet you are making or calling, and the number of bets those bets in the pot. For example, if there is 12$ in the pot and you need to call a 3$ bet, you are getting 4:1 pot odds, expressed as 4:1.

To have good enough pot odds, generally you need to have better pot odds than your chance of winning the hand. So if you think you only have a 20% chance to win the hand, you should only play that hand if there is 5 times your bet or more in the pot. This is a risk/reward ratio - if you risk losing the bet, you need to have a big enough reward to make it affordable.

Pot odds can be used during different situations, including calling bets or drawing to a straight or flush. For example, if you need to call 5$ with a 25% chance to win a hand, there needs to be 4 or more times the size of your bet in the pot, or 20$.

BEFORE THE FLOP: especially when you are playing weaker hands trying to hit a flop, ex. suited connectors and small pairs, be aware if the pot is big enough for you to take a flop and try to hit your hand. AFTER THE FLOP: This will mainly be applied when you are drawing to a hand, but the same rule applies, you must have better pot odds then your chance of winning, so it will be profitable in the long run if you hit. To apply this, you need to know how many outs you have, and what percentage this gives you to win the hand. Below is a chart drawing odds from a deck of 47 unseen cards.

Good players will also use these when defending the best hand. When you are playing with the best hand, especially against loose players, you can put in a bet that gives the player bad odds to call if you think he will play anyway, or if you want to just win the pot right away you can put an oversized bet in that is clearly not an affordable price to draw. This is just one of the ways that you can tilt pot odds in your favor.

BLUFFING: Pot odds must also be considered when bluffing. Over and Over again I have seen people bluff all in to attempt to steal the smaller blinds: an incredibly high risk for a very small reward. The mathematical rule for bluffing is that THE POT ODDS MUST BE GREATER THAN THE ODDS OF SUCCESSFULLY PULLING OFF THE BLUFF.

For example, if you estimate the odds of bluffing and winning at 1 in 5, then there must be more than 5 bets in the pot when you attempt the bluff. This means that you can bluff 1 10th the size of the pot and lose 9 times, and you win in the long run if you win the 10th time. HOWEVER, be careful when playing against bad players, who are often "un-bluffable". Make sure you consider that your chance of bluffing bad players is very small, and use this move scarcely

9 Player SNG system

The System in a nut shell:Starting with 9 players
9-8 players remaining: YOU play ONLY the top 6 hands PRE-FLOP 10-10.J-J,Q-Q,K-K,A-A,and A-K ( see note on playing your blinds)
EVERY Time you are dealt one of these 6 hands you bet a minimum of 8x the Big Blind( if you only get the blinds at this point thats OK)
If someone raises your bet you re-raise 5x their bet, EVERY TIME!
Example if the BB is 20 and you are dealt pocket Q's you bet out8x20 for 160, if you are raised 100, you re-raise 5x 100 for 500

If you are playing one of the pairs 10-A, and the flop brings only one or no over cards then you PUSH ALL IN
If your playing A-K and catch one or more A-K on the flop PUSH ALL-IN
If you are NOT pushing all in, you are checking and folding. YOU DO NOT CHASE! PERIOD!

7-6 players remaining: you play the hands from above and you add 9-9,8-8,and A-Q
All other actions are the same, bets 8x, re-raises x5 ect.

5-4 players remaining: you play all hands from above and add 7-7,6-6,A-J,and A-10
Minimum bet is now 5x the Big blind and ANY Re-raise is ALL-IN

Note on your blinds: If you can see the flop from your BB without putting any more chips in, DO IT! It's free! If you are called on to add chips to the pot and DON'T have one of your starting hands FOLD! In your small blind, if EVERYONE before you has FOLDED and it is just you and the BB pay the other half of the blind to see the flop no matter what cards you have, The BB is playing any two cards because he has already paid to play them. If you can see the flop for a few chips it's worth it to see, If he raises, FOLD, If anyone else has called and you don't have one of your staring hands FOLD PERIOD!

Your in the money 3 players remaining: You have made your money back +, With the pressure off, it is time to win this thing.
You are going to open it up and open it up now!
From this point on you play ANY A, ANY K especially with a suited card, ANY SUITED CONNECTERS 3 or over,
ANY PAIR IS AN INSTANT ALL-IN
OVER BET EVERY HAND YOU PLAY, steal every chance you get, PUSH ALL-IN on ANY FLUSH DRAW POST FLOP!

Rule of thumb for heads up: Call ANY RAISE with ANY TWO CARDS that is less then 10% of your chip stalk
ANY HIGH PAIR or A-K, A-Q ALL-IN PRE FLOP PERIOD!
