I turned
on October 9th!
Hello, my name is Manny aka Sandman2369 (Pokerstars and Bodog) aka holdnamonster (Full Tilt). Here is a pic of me and some friends playing a friendly low limit game,

*** Friendship Requests Welcomed, but please at least send me a PM and tell me a bit about yourself. How long you have been playing, preferred game, poker goals, whatever***
While I have been playing card games since I was a kid, I began playing hold em consistently in late 2007. A non failure (minimal loss) at a Caesers limit table in Vegas got me interested.
With my beautiful wife's encouragement, I began hosting a monthly home game in late 2007. Primarily we played low stakes limit hold em. Much to my understanding wife's dismay
it has grown into a weekly occurence, with a mixture of limit nights & no limit tournies, and from 5 or 6 people interested in playing low stakes limit, to more than 20 people that are primarily interested in No Limit. (Still low stakes, but winning can net you a nice amount of cash)
In January of 2008, with very limited no limit experience, I was invited to a 28 man bounty tournament in Tallahassee. My goal was to not be the first person eliminated. Instead, after 7 hours, I found myself at the final table, and then the final two. Unfortunately, the fairytale ending did not happen, and I was knocked out in 2nd place. A $500+ payout and plenty of memories, and the addiction was just getting started.

A good friend, and new bird, catchabad1, has been my mentor over the last few months. He has provided great reading material (Harrington on Hold em), advice (quit playing like a Donk!), and direction.
I am currently working on my own version of the Furgueson Challenge. Strickly playing SNGs I am attempting to double by bankroll before moving to the next stakes level. I have attained my first goal and have moved to $10 SNGs with the goal to increase by bankroll another 50% before I try the $20 SNGs. I am also beginning to take some shots at some lower buy in MTTs.
I have only played in a handful of RB freerolls and my best finish to date is13th place. I did take a 2nd in a clan battle in which my clan mate jbenter took 1st. Participated in another clan battle with the King Cartel on 08/15/08 and took 4th as I was knocked out by my good friend Kona.
This pic is from my most recent trip to Vegas. Straight flush King high. Unfortunately, it occurred at a limit table, but I did win a $68 jackpot.

I live in sunny Florida, south of Tampa, though I grew up in So Cal, or as the tv show says, the OC.
My wife took up photography years ago, and her favorite subjects are babies and children, but she has done some prop work as well. Here are some photos now hanging in our game room.

April 24th of 2008, I became a lizzard.

I tend to stay pretty busy, which limits the amount of poker I get to play. (Though my wife would disagree) I prefer live versus online, but I take what is available. 99.9% of my online play is on FullTilt.

I rec'd this award for this table.

Any other free time is spent on the golf course where I average anywhere from 90 to100.
Good luck on the felts, and feel free to shout out if you see me.

This is a clip from my buddy's bachelor party weekend where a little retribution was given to a friend of mine. Make sure the sound is on, but I will advise that I do drop a F bomb at the end. http://youtube.com/watch?v=eIOHNTSoiJQ

My best online hand to date, and on my 99 Red Balloons Table!

Just a reminder that Bad Beats happen in both directions. You will not see me post a bad beat blog very often.

You have it in your power to turn a bad-beat around simply by realizing this simple truth: The more bad beats you encounter, the luckier you are. It's a sign that you are playing against opponents who continually take the worst of it, and if you can't beat someone who always takes the worst of it, you can't beat anyone. ~Lou Krieger
Most of the money you'll win at poker comes not from the brilliance of your own play, but from the ineptitude of your opponents. ~Lou Krieger
