Personal:
Up until about 10 years ago I was a "travelling" robotic systems engineer. I had spent about 33 of 35 days away from home printing money--or so it seemed. This job and my 'pleasure travels' have taken me to all but five of the states in the USA. Work also took me to several cities in Canada and Mexico. After about the first three years of that job I would wake up each morning... roll out of bed and exclaim... "This is BULLSH(edited)!" It really got old.
Finally got laid off during the second wave of layoffs back when the US economy took a dump. After which, I began a volleyball coaching career in our local Catholic Youth Organization (which is huge... I'm sure you've heard the phrase 'Holy Toledo?"
I've worked my way up to coaching a winning Junior National team with the USAV/USVBA. I'm a crazy obsessed coach and now actually do it full time and year round. Money doesn't roll off the presses anymore, but I sure am far happier. Each day is a joy.
Poker:
As of January 9, 2008, I've been playing Texas Hold'em off and on for about four years. I believe I still suck as a player. I have two other 'passions' in life... that of Coaching Volleyball and searching out the better beers of the world.
When I win the WSOP Main Event, I'll be starting both a brewery and a Volleyball Club for our youth. --hmmm... is there a conflict there? pssst. shhhh... most coaches are drinkers, it is one of the few ways of dealing with the stresses of so many adolescents around.
