Several months after joining Railbirds, I started taking college classes for an Associates Degree of Sciences in Medical Coding. My studies have been time consuming so my tournament time is temporarily limited. (ouch!!) I discovered tournament poker on TV: Until then I thought poker was just individual hands of luck vs. luck. Watching tournaments I saw the mathmatical, psychological and strategic side of poker. And I saw that skill beats luck. About six months after watching tournaments on TV, I built up the courage to enter a tournament on a riverboat near my home and I placed 4th!! I was amazed at how much I'd actually absorbed from those TV shows, so I played some more live tournaments and won enough to be hooked. Then I discovered online poker sites. I like online poker because you get more experience, playing more hands per hour online than live. Eventually, I discovered Railbirds and quickly decided this was a fantastic little poker community! The level of skill amongst Railbirds is phenomenal and some of the best players routinely share their knowledge via blogs. But the best thing about Railbirds is the camaraderie shared by so many people here. There are so many people on this site who are genuinely nice, considerate and caring of each other. I'd like to thank Railbirds for giving me an opportunity to learn from them. I'd also like to thank Railbirds.com for the opportunities, incentives and superior support of the Prorails.
