Default There may be hope for Full Tilt

After playing quite a few tourneys on FTP, I finally had a decent finish in a decent sized tournament. There were 877 entrants and I took 5th for just over a grand. I never had a hand that I was all in with that got busted by some dum dum. So in other words, there is hope everybody, get out there and play. Ill take a 5th place anyday with the number of mistakes I made. I was only behind in 2 pots, both of which I lost for good reason. So until next time, good luck and see you on the felt!

It was a 24+2 dollar buy-in. It still had a bunch of donkeys at the beginning, but they faded out and we played some very good poker throughout the 2nd and 3rd our of the tourney. Definitely favored stronger players vs. the lower buyin games that have so many idiots, its like a crapshoot.

good job. you have a good point about smaller limits. i'm to cheep to actualy deposit but from seeing the freerolls i know how bad people play sometimes.

My biggest problem is bankroll. I'm a decent player, but I don't have a large enough bankroll to get out of the low buy-in tourneys, where all of the idjits reside. So I'll keep plugging away at the micro tournies, in the hope of building my bankroll, and playing some real poker someday.

Oh, and I LOOOVE Full Tilt....I like poker stars too, but the atmosphere at FT is slightly better...IMHO.

I neither have a very large bankroll, but there is a wat to play those tourneys : When i win more than 7$, i invest them on a 26$ token satellite, that are not very difficult, so i can play those tourneys...

Thumbs up No kiddin!!

Hey you're absolutely right, i myself build my bankroll through ring action where the competition is abysmal, everytime i play ring table action on full tilt i always go in with my minimum of $4 and come out well over $20 every single time its freakin amazing!, and btw just a couple of days ago, i finished 11th in a $10,000 guarantee rebuy, for $162, and i have to say the competition was awesome, and i only added on once and that was at the 1st break, but anyways their were no all ins and if a person did they actually waited till they had a monster flop, and took great reads unlike you would see in a freeroll, and it actually went by at a sluggish place because you actually had every player taking time and though into their decisions, just phenomenol, myself i easily could've got to the final table as i was in 1st for a period of time late in the tourney, but i've seen a flaw in me that happens in these latenight tourneys and that is that i get tired and start to make decisions not thought out, and it cost me a shot at thousands, because i was only 2 spots away from the final table, but yes if you play in these upper limit tourneys you will not find these disasterous idiots that call themselves poker players but will find actual true poker

do people actually have success with building their bankrolls starting out with freerolls and never depositing a penny? how big do people get that way

i have personally built a bankroll of $50 from last week into a bankroll of 380 playing sit n go's on AP and FT. As far as the freerolls, that would include a pretty decent finish (or several) and a lot of grinding to play confidently with that money. Remember, scared money isn't going to win...but when you aren't scared, you want scared money at your table
