Just got a 6/827 place in a Bodog APT/Macau seat qualifier. Took me 4 and a half hours to finish. The biggest adjustment is learning how to concentrate for such a long period of time.

Right on...the key to 4-5 hour tourneys - be prepared,,,very prepared....i sit out after each 30 minute interval - regardless. I grab a coffee or a beer and enjoy the outdoors for 5 mins. Try it - works for me.

I need help. I have maintained the before above mentioned results for a few weeks now so I am pretty sure that i have turned the corner. I have learned to incorporate a extended run of bad cards into mostly positive results with solid bets and a respectful table prescence.

BUT........ Now I am the ultimate bubble boy. For the past five MTTs I have played in I have spent the majority of my time in the upper 10% of chip stacks. Most of the time in the top-5 or six players. But then when the money bubble approaches I somehow manage to finish one-spot! ONE-Spot out of the money. I am not lying. In 40-table MTTs on Pokerstars I have finished 37th and 37th and in a 45-man MTT 8th and in a 180-person 28th. And it is not like I am short stack trying to limp in. Bad beats...Too-loose....Too-tight... All have played roles in my elimination. And to spend an hour+ cruising through a large field only to flame out with nary a penny to show for it is making me sort of grumpy.

So could someone please give me a little tweak. Obviously my strategy is extemely useful for early and mid-tourney but less so later on. Why am I good but broke.

That's cool the real path to success is being willing to get on it. But congratulations on your achievements thus far. I really have a problem with late tourny play, but am working on it. I hope to have a success story like yours. Extremely nice stats in that game btw.
