From time to time it seems there may be people who have programs that see cards is this possible and if so is there a program to locate them or block them

The only way anyone can see your cards is if they have access to your computer....so everyone can stop worrying.

There is currently a bit of scandal on Absolute Poker regarding a couple of players who are allegedly using some method of seeing other players hole cards. So far they have allegedly won several hundred thousand dollars through cheating this way.

It's not a matter of hacking into other players computers, but rather the poker server.

They haven't proven these people guilty, so I say alledgedly, but it seems to be possible.

I think the only way they could see your own cards is if someone hacked the main server which would mean they are either working there or have worked there but i don't believe theres something to block that, Plus i don't even know if they can see your hole cards just heard stories.

There is a very good article about the subject here Link to article

I would be more concerned with collusion among players on the table.

The only thing you have to worry about is malware you've downloaded and installed on your PC that is transmitting your hole card information to somebody. What people should possibly really be concerned about is bots or more specifically colluding bots. However I have yet to see any evidence that proves nor disproves that a bot can competently play a no-limit game of holdem. Fixed limit possibly, but it seems a bot would have a hard time dealing with the dynamics of no-limit where basic ABC poker isn't always enough to come out ahead.
