Inappropriate Freeroll chatter...

I'm sorry I've never posted a blog or on the forum and people in the freerolls let me hear it but this guy took it out of hand... After he got eliminated he gave me this (I'm RobPlayPoker and I'm from Brooklyn, NY):

g******* [observer]: for all the good people that died on 9/11 and trash like you live on
RobPlayPoker: bye
g******* [observer]: i have no idea next time they hit the US god willing you die
RobPlayPoker: You're a great human being dude....

These freerolls are for fun and to improve game play and build a bankroll but chatter like this shouldn't be used... What can be done to make someone like this stop?

woah...that's mean and totally uncalled for. He probably just spoke giberish because he was "mad". If i were you i would email the poker stars support staff, give them that converstation(point out his name) and ask what they can do about it. Best of luck!

You could track him down here, see if he belongs to a clan and pass it on to the Clan Leader, most of them are not in favour of this type of behaviour from their members.

It's not the sort of talk that I want to see on my tables, of course it still happens and there is really no direct route to fix it.

The answer you will get from the prorails and staff here is to take it up with the poker site.

Sadly it seems that there are more players online these days that like to run their mouths. I try to laugh and pass it off. Alas, sometimes it is hard. I, myself; remember being that mouthy. About the time I was drunk, just turned 21, and got the crap royaly beat out of me, lol.

I can say all that I want to about not letting it get to you. The fact is that comments like that, especially for those of us in America who where either close, or knew someone who died on 9/11 that comment can be ab out the worste to hear.

Online poker sites have chat mute options; from completely blocking chat in a tournament to muting individual players chat. My suggestion is that you use one of these options so you won't have to deal with stupid people who have nothing better to do than type nonsense.

I'm so sorry that he said that horrible stuff to you especially since you live in America. I know this won't help but I doubt he was serious and he just said it in the heat of the moment without thinking. Kids are like that sometimes. It's so easy to say but try to not let it get you down. He wants to make you upset but try your best not to give him the pleasure of it. Again i'm sorry you faced such disgraceful behaviour and i hope you don't have to face anything like that again. It's so easy to insult people who you don't know/can't see and again i really don't think he meant it. however, it must be stopped and this should not go unpunished...

I try to chat very little because of that kind of malcontent. I chat only if opponent is civil and really wants to have meaningful conversation. Most times might acknowlege hand with nh and ty back.
better that way unless you know the person, I have run into very little problem dudes in forum sponsered games. Some of these people whole gameplay is to see if they can break you down and make you go on tilt. They care less for the game of poker just getting their ego pumped up knowing you can not touch them. But the Poker site can and will with legitament complaints.
