Default what would you do with 55 ???

ok here's the scenario. I'm playing at a charity event 2 -5 limit hold em,, blinds are $1/$2. 7 players at the table. #s 1,2,3 & 5 suffer from a bad case of ATCD (Any Two Cards Disorder) 4 is a rock I'm 6th & 7 is tight agressive.I haven't been catching much for about the last 2 hours or so & my stack is down a little. not much, like $20 or so. I'm small blind & have $1 in the pot & I'm holding 5 5 #1 folds (first time in an hour) 2 limps, 3 limps, 4 raises to $7. I know this guy pretty well, he's my next door neighbor, & I KNOW that at the very least he has AK suited & if he has a pocket pair it's Jacks or better. 5 calls there is $21 in the pot & a call means i gotta put in 6 giving me 3 1/2 pot odds, but I may be as much as a 4 to 1 underdog & player 7 still hasn't acted & he can be very aggressive & if he's got cards he will put in a reraise. knowing you're first to act after the flop what would you do??

Default fold

I would just go ahead and just muck it. Your neighbor may have you dominated and if not, at best-case-scenario you'll be taking a flop w/ small PP against at least 4 overcards, maybe more. And Theres also no guarantee that you will even get to see a flop if #7 happens to wake up with something. Not to mention the fact that everyone at the table would have position on you. Yeah, for sure lay it down. At least thats my opinion. Hope I helped.

Default i did muck

well, now for the rest of the story..........
#5 called I folded the 5s #7 called #2 folded #3 called
flop came 2c 5s Js
it's checked around to player #4 who bets $5 #5 calls #7 mucks but flashes his cards to me. he had AQ off #3 calls
turn was 7h
again #4 bets $5 & gets called by #s 5 & 3
river was 2d
now player 3 leads out a $5 bet 4 folds #5 raises $5 #3 reraises & #5 calls. when the betting is over #3 shows 66 & #5 shows 9 7 off suit. player 5 takes the pot with 2 pr 7s & 2s
& now you ask what did player #4 have?? As Ks he flopped nut flush draw, had 2 overcards to the board & missed every single out he had !!! & I folded 5s full !!! I still think I played it the way I should have & if I had the same hand same position etc. I'd do it again. I just don't have to like the outcome this time.

It's always hard folding a hand then seeing it be the best hand. Personally i would have called. In you case it is different because you personally knew some of the players. Did that beat end up effecting your place dramatically?

Got to fold in a limited game. In no limit you could talked yourself into believeing that the implied odds would allow the call.

don't know if i mentioned it but it was not a tournament. was a ring game. but it didn't affect me too much as i know i would play it the same way again if the circumstances were the same. if the raise had come from almost anyone else at the table i'm calling & takin my chances but with it comin from my neighbor bob i know he's not raising with garbage & i thought it could be KK or AA which would put me WAY behind pre flop

I think you have to fold.

Theres too many players active in the pot. You more than likely would be going in a mssive underdog and be out of position after the flop..

If you could have limped with them then great, but this isnt the case and I think that a fold here would be the right move...

Honestly my friend told me If you got low pair and someone else has 2 Higher cards than you then it's like a 50% chance pre flop that you win. Just a coin flip. After flop it's like 75%. Based on Here Say. Correct me if i'm wrong.

yeah it's a coin toss IF he has just over cards but if he's got a larger pocket pair it's about 80/20. i had $1 small blind in & would've had to call an additional $6 knowing that the guy is TIGHT !! he doesn't raise just to try to pick up the blinds ! AND i hadn't been catching many cards all night...... if he had JJ i would've been drawing practically dead after flopping trips as well ! i also had another tight aggressive player behind me in the big blind & if he happened to be holding a large pocket pr, he reraises & now i gotta make a tough decision..... put in ANOTHER $5 when at that point i can only beat pocket 2s,3s or 4s ..... was actually a fairly easy fold, i just posted it here to see what responses i would get.
