I personally dislike AK to begin with, but I went along with how I'd normally play it preflop. I'd have considered a raise to 600 but any more than that I MAY have folded. Depends on my gut feeling. I was concerned about there being 2 diamonds on the flop, looking back I feel I should have bet more, but it's also the reason for my actions on the turn and river. One issue I have is that, because there were two diamonds on the flop, almost all of my attention was making it expensive for my opponent to call with a flush draw. I barely even registered the second 8 on the river. Also, I bet VERY quickly with this hand. I'm quick on the keyboard, and after about a second looking at the flop, I raised 4x Big Blind. Even quicker actions for the turn and river. What merits would swift betting have online in this situation, if any? |

Well it does give your hand away somewhat... but about half the people out there won't even notice this. Fast betting looks as if you have something and you really want to defend it. It didn't really matter in this hand since he probrably called you down with a worse ace or queen. You probrably got the maximum out of that guy.
Fast betting however can also mean a bluff if you keep betting in disregard for what cards come on the board. |

Man, why you are unhappy
![]() I think you played the hand correctly, you found a donkey that called you till the end, he didn't tryed to hit the flush, I think he had something like AJ or AX (X= another low card), cause if he missed the flush at the river why call your final bet? IMHO you played correctly ![]() |

One you didnt have position. Your raise was 4 x BB but there was 550 in the pot so you didnt match that. Which is fine. Here you have a calling station. You didnt have position. What can you do? You bet he calls. THe big error was villian did not raise your post flop bet. He has position. This is where he lost money. Had he raised the bet and you called he would have known you werent afraid of A pair. (This is where he couldve won the hand. If you folded)
You bet after the turn and he didnt catch his J he should fold or decide if he wants to carry on with a bluff. But here he wouldve saved the turn and river bet by raising once earleir. Now let me ask you something. Would you have called an "all" in after the flop? |
