From my understanding, potripper (and nionio, et al from UB) were not bots. They were employees who had access to the hole cards from a "glitch" in the software.

That is correct MeAmy.

NioNio and POTRIPPER were not "Bots", they were accounts used by Company Members.

Truth be told, Poker Bots do exist. There have been multiple cases where Online Poker sites have closed down peoples accounts for using Bots.

Here a few of there Stories:

Full Tilt Poker froze my account with $47,000 in it.

NL Bots on Full Tilt Poker

Full Tilt Poker took over $70,000 from me.

Those above links are worth the read.

There are heaps of websites that offer Poker Bots for sale, and I mean heaps. The bottom line is, There are Poker Bots out there, and people do use them.

People do not sell them though, so do not buy any Poker Bots from any websites, because the people who use them, do not sell them for $100 or whatever the sites advertise.

I know a group who played togather alot who all had the accounts temp closed until they explained the relationship with each other. (they were all forum members of same forum ) seem software detected 1 girl who folded AK and stars thought this was enough to close accts and ask questions. tho they all were reinstated the ask the same group do not play in sng's togather other then private ones.

Yes there has been a rash of fulltilt closing a lot of

account lately .. but you know why ?

Simple, they had multi accounts with is against the rules.

I have heard of at least 3 or 4 dozen people in the last

few days complaining that fulltilt closed their accounts

but then they also said "yeah they closed 8 of my accounts"

I was like umm wtf why u even have more than 1 .... they said

simple it allowed them into more promo's and fr's so if they

donked out they could quickly change to another account and try

to win money still .... example watch you fr's people ever

notice in the 1st 10 mins how many ppl bust out by playing

horrible hands all in to begin with ? the truth is they don't

care cause if they don't accumulate a monster stack then they

just switch and play a different one .. why you think we

get like 900 in a fr and within 10 mins we down to almost

500 or so thats almost 1/2 lol and why cause a majority

of these folks either have multi-accounts or just dont care

thats the truth be told... IMO though

I am wondering what the site does for these people, I am thinking that the poker rooms hire people to do this and if anyone finds out they rectify by deleting the persons account. Do they pay back everyone that has lost money to the person??? no thats why they allow it, because it is a win win for them, not only do the people that lost not get their money back, the poker site also gets all of the money from the person at fault so who wins?????
