Question Online Gambling in the U.S.?

Ok, so I know sites such as FT and PP accept U.S. transactions but there is so much junk on the internet about internet gambling that I can't find an answer to a simple simple question... I am 18 and I live in Ohio (dunno if that matters) can I or can I not deposit money into a poker sight... simple question. So can someone who is 18-20 living in the U.S. and actualy making deposits in a state that requires you to be 21 confirm this for me please? Much appreciated thankyou.

Try the State Gambling Agencies site, State Gambling Agencies. Look for your state and the answers you are looking for should be available.

Default is online poker illegal or legal

I live in illinois and i can still deposit money into my full tilt account i dont know if it is actually illegal for us to play or is illegal for banks to let you deposit. But you would think if all the pros knew that it was illegal they would stop playing so they wouldnt get into trouble

I can go to poker rooms within 3 miles of my house and play any night of the week, including Sunday. The states with large casino lobby's have passed state laws against it. States like Nevada, New Jersey. I don't live in in one of those states. Doyles room won't accept players from certain states. I guess it all depends on what state you live in. Then again I haven't heard of anyone being arrested for playing online poker anywhere ether.

Online poker is not illegal, some gaming comission challenged the UIEGA law saying that poker is not a game of pure luck that the skill requirements come into factor so the bill is currently pending. That isnt my question, my question is the age requirement. I cant find a document saying whether it is 18 or 21.

I should reiterate for clarity... it certain IS illegal in a few states. Information on which ones is easy to find online. But it isn't in my state and I just want to know age requirements.

It may depend on the poker room. Most of them (or all of them for all I know) have a minimum age of 18. Check the site you're wanting to play on for their requirements.

Red face Online Gambling in the US

Everything I've seen indicates that playing online poker is fine. As to your age requirement question, I guess would base it on the general gambling age in your state. I'm from Ohio and everything adult-oriented you had to be 21 (e.g., alcohol).

I believe when you try to deposit funds you need to check a box saying you are of age, I think it is 18.
