It is very hard to remain silent sometimes, but it is the best approach. And it is sooooo satifying to take out the fish!!

great list, i personally follow a very similar list of table talk rules... but i would like to play devil's advocate here for a moment. A good friend of mine acts the opposite. due to him not being a big bluffer, he likes to act like a complete asshole at the table so that when he gets the monster hand and passes it off as a bet...people want to call him down because he is hated so much! It's not the way I play but I can't really say anything bad about his table image because his strategy works to perfection.

Red face Please add this one to the proper conduct for both male and female players

[B]I would like to add one more proper conduct for both male and females. Not all of the ladies who play poker are looking for a man. I would say that 96% of us already have who we are looking for. It is distracting to try and play and have these guys try to match up with you. You try to be nice and let them know you are not interested and have someone (married, living together, engaged, dating) and they dont seem to get the message. They start talking trash, so you disable their chat. Then you see where others are getting upset by the talk and come to your defense. That only seems to make it worse. Your fun game has just went down the tube. I know people cant see who I really am, but that doesnt mean it isnt embarrassing all the same. Please guys and gals, if you are looking to hock up, go to a dating site and leave the poker sites to the players who just come here to play poker and maybe make some friends as you start to see them at the tables. Thank you for reading this.

Thumbs up Railbird Etiquette

If on the other hand, you display a good image and show good sportsmanship, other players will give you the earned respect and you may even find it easier to get that hand you’re bluffing.
I have compiled a short list for online poker etiquette. Feel free to add to the list.
  1. No Name Calling: So what if you’re Ad Ah just lost to 7c 2c. (Flop 7d 7s 2h) Accept it, it happens, just remember, it’s poker. Congratulate the winner and move on.
  2. Don’t belittle other players and don’t be rude: Some heckling is acceptable if done tastefully. Ask that player “How can you call half your stack with 7c 2c?” Tell him/her you’re going to keep an eye on them. “Maybe I’ll see what you saw in a 7c 2c bet!!” “You sure seem to know what you’re doing!” Don’t over do it.
  3. After you’ve lost all your chips, go away from the table. Don’t hang around bothering/heckling other players.
  4. If you’re not in the hand, KEEP QUIET! If you mucked 7c 2c preflop and the flop comes 7d 7s 2h, don’t blurt out that you would have had a full house! Everyone will know that it's unlikely that any player still in the hand has the full house, making it hard to bluff and represent that hand.
  5. Don’t delay the game. Bet, Call or Fold! If you leave the computer, click to sit out next hand. Don’t make everyone wait for the timer on you to run out. If you do get upset/mad, sit out a couple of hands and cool down. If another player is bothering you and won’t quit after being asked, turn off their chat! You can’t answer what you don’t see. Let them know that you have “blocked” their chat.

Just remember there are a lot of bad players (FISH) online and those that think they can say or do whatever they want.

And Finally: When playing with FISH, don’t tap on the aquarium!! You'll scare the fish!

ViperHawk
It would be so nice if everyone on every site takes that into consideration on EVERY site...
