Forum structure

Hi,

I'm new to the site and just asking about the structure of the forum. I've been reading around the site and have read about there being 3 stages:

-Beginner
-Intermediate
-Expert

My question is, what's the difference between the stages and how do you "move up" a stage.

Also i can see "novice" on some people too, is that related with the post count?

It is all based on activity on the site. The more active you are the faster you move up in status.

What are the different Railbirds ranks?

Railbirds are divided in to four categories: Newbie, Beginner, Expert and Prorail. All Railbirds have the same right to use and view all content at Railbirds.com.


Newbie - Once you are a registered railbird

Beginner - Be an active member

Expert - Be a REALLY active member

Prorail (Administrator) - Get selected by Railjoe

Prorailship has got nothing to do with status or who you happen to know. And while RailJoe prefers picking experts as prorails, what he really wants is people who he feels have a number of qualities needed, namely: 1. Patience 2. Reason 3. Willingness to help 4. Ability to work in a team 5. Understanding of how people work Basically, if someone sends an application, if RailJoe thinks that someone is a good candidate, or if another prorail suggests somebody, RailJoe will do a background check to see if he can find the qualities mentioned above in said person.



How do I find out how close I am to the next rank?

Due to abuse in the past, the points system to determine your site rank is kept secret. However, there may be a visual scale added in the future to give you an idea.

I'm relatively new and was wondering too why no avatar or post count. I thought it might take 10 posts, but I'm probably double that now and still lack the information on my posts.

i was wondering the same thing,i think ive posted over 20 times and i put in my avatar,but i still dont see my avatar or how many posts ive made.

I can see how many times I've posted but I know I've posted more than it shows.

I've posted 27 times. Still no avatar or post count shown. What's up with that? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller??

yeah i probably made it too, and wonder why i cant see. but i just started. i think they will be there when they want you to be there. ill just wait for it. see ya.
