Not only does C have the A, it has a monster straight draw, and has D's club flush draw trumped. It also has the spade flush draw, plus the nut low draw...I guess Quizzy's point is that 3 A's are gone, and a bunch of low cards, so K's will probably hold up. But like Ice said, gimme C any day in a tourney and I'm happy.

Default Omaha H/L

Not knowing what the others had, I wouldn't even play the d hand in an all in situation. I probably wouldn't even play it unless I was in the big or small blinds. Hand c is, in my opinion, the superior hand here by a long shot. D would probably be my last choice of the 4.

Default Wrong Wrong Wrong!!!

I almost never argue with the quiz master but I have to in this case

Omaha Hi Lo is my game

I picked the hand that I thought was the best and I was wrong by the QM's light.

I picked C...QM says D

The QuizMaster is wrong.

The best "Expected" Value means what do you get for what you put in.

After I made my guess I went to a couple of different calculators.

They all agree. A and B are out of the running.

say it was a $100 pot

with C you have a 52% chance of getting half the pot, either high or low, and 13% chance to scoop
52% chance of half of $100 = .52 x 50 = $26
13% chance of all the $100 = .13 x 100 = $13
$26 + $13 = $39 total

with D you have a 33% chance to get half the pot with a high and a 19% chance to scoop
33% chance of half of $100 = .33 x 50 = $16.5
19% chance of all the $100 = .19 x 100 = $19
$16.5 + $19 = $35.5

A
Scoop: 4.40%
Hi: 16.40%
Lo: 1.23%
EE: 0.205

B
Scoop: 9.86%
Hi: 22.85%
Lo: 0.00%
EE: 0.259

C
Scoop: 13.01%
Hi: 25.53%
Lo: 26.63%
EE: 0.275

D
Scoop: 19.09%
Hi: 32.92%
Lo: 0.00%
EE: 0.261

See the "EE"? The highest number next to choice "C" indicates the better hand. Not only by the stats I cut/pasted from one of the calculators that I posted here but from all three I searched I got the same numbers.

The QuizMaster Is WRONG!!!!

And these prove it

whoops I got it now... if all those hands are up against each other... obviously D has advantage.

I'd personally rather be dealt C in a tourney

Talking

having played omaha hi/lo quite frequently -

D is the best hand as :

in this scenarion already 3 lots of the lowest hands are already out giing a very low percentage that a low hand will actually qualify.

therfore with KK, KQ clubs (i.e. flush draw) and also by having the straight draw on board as well,

whereas is the lone ace thats left does appear, none of teh otehr hands will win outright but share the pot. The only hand capable of taking down the whole pot is D.

to assasin yes teh calculators are right for c if its just against D

but with A and B still in most often or not its a split pot.

and since the % for a low qualifying hand with all such cards out is low.

D's greater percentage to scoop the Hi element supercedes.

Default Not a chance!!

hand D is not going to be the top hand at all, on a single hand maybe, but I regularly throw cards like that in hi/lo, it just wont hold up in long run, sorry quizmaster u wrong here!!

I don't play O8, but according to two random omaha hi/lo calculators I found, hand B has the highest expected value of the 4 against each other, based on 376992 emulations.

I see a 2 with my low hand. I like to steal the half pot. plus possible flush with club or spade or straight. I like c better. The low hands are easy to predict than the high hands. I would play or fold either way with low hands.
