Lightbulb hu flop

well i got the correct answer in the daily.....however in real life i would fold that hand prior to putting any additional chips in.

I don't understand why everyone is up in arms about the all-in play. The most likely scenario here is that you are up against top pair, maybe AQ or an open ended str8 draw. If you put him on top pair, you have 15 outs twice, making you a slight favorite. I think a big thing to take into account is how well the other guy plays. If he is your equal or slightly better then the match will most likely come down to one coin flip anyway as most HU matches often do when played evenly. Why not take the flip here?

no, why risk your tournament life on a hand that you are pretty sure you're behind in... no play on ,and don't end it here... too many of the outs that you need can be counterfited and will make your opponents hand. Also he might have the A of diamonds.

Ill take a coin flip if I have a chip advantage. Or am low on chips and being blinded out.
You see idiots going all in on a straight or flush draw all the time and think .. there is another rail bird. OUT!
I thought the idea of this game was to get your money in when you are ahead in %. Not with a 35% or even 50%.
Mr. Quiz I think you are off on this 1.... Jim

Easy all-in ? Why would you risk all your chips on a draw to the second nut flush ? I would fold here, maybe I'm wrong i've not been playing that long. But imo he could already have his flush or another made hand or be on a draw with A diamond. I don't like those odds.

It was an easy choice to make and - yes - I got it correct. I hve actually encountered similiar situations (from both sides! lol)and done exasctly that - all-in. I have won some and I have lost some, but still I'm afraid i would pay it the same.

Good luck on the tables!

I understand the answer but sometimes the math isn't a good enough reason to call. This is a heads up match and if you feel like you're a better heads up player than your opponent then why risk all of your chips here? You made your semi-bluff and it didn't work. Fold and you still have 1020 left with 10-20 blinds. If you're really better than him at heads up then you'll be fine. The only way I call there is if I know he's better than me and the only way I can beat him is to get lucky.

Thumbs down No Way Is This an All-In

As previously noted, even if you hit the flush, it's not the nuts, unless the one-outer Jd hits. I put my opponent on at least two-pair here, more likely a set of queens or tens or even the str8 with KJ, and the jack is the diamond probably. He could even have AJ diamonds, and we're completely dead.

Halfway through first round, with over 2/3 my starting stack still in play, this is easy fold. I'm beat, and I'm not praying for the suckout win on, at absolute best, 5 outs.

OBTW: I'm not in this hand to begin with. K5 off against a raise? Even HU there's such a thing as donk play, and this is a perfect example, start to finish.

Sorry quizzy... I think you're beat on this one. I did agree with the raise yesterday on this hand (once we were actually in it), but it should be a raise we can walk away from.

Default now u have to go all in

First off, I would have folded immediately never raised on a flush draw like that.

But, since I am in the hand and I already raised...I might as well go all-in because I am already pot committed so I really don't have a choice.
