ps. sorry if this is wrong, im a pot odds and semi limit noob
you are basically looking 10 here. what have you put your opponent on? hes fired at you every chance hes had. hes tight! who cares that you are getting 5-1? your hoping for the river. thats called gambling. if you pair one of the hole cards your still not good. 4 flush!hah! please dont tell me your gunna get busy looking for that. your on J high right now. this is why on-line no limit players pay me at the live play limit table!

Worst now is that a third diamond has come off so for all you know you're already drawing dead. Out of calling, raising, or folding calling is again the absolute stupidest thing one could do... thankfully that answer was taken out. So for tonight the correct answer is raising.... wrong. What would you get from raising on the turn... with the way this TIGHT player is playing, I'm willing you'll be re-raised or at least called. The correct answer should be to fold. You don't chase weak draws that even if hit may already be beat especially after the turn. You tried to steal, that failed. You tried to hit an inside draw, that failed. There's no rush to beat anyone... take your time and wait for the RIGHT opportunity to win a hand and just get out. This is an easy fold... don't put your money in a pot when you're obviously behind, likely drawing to 4 cards or less, or even drawing dead.
I agree completely. What a bad quiz. It should be FOLD. RAISE?! Seriously?!

Thumbs down I have to be missing something...

...but sadly, I'm not.

Quizzy doesn't explain why he chooses to raise here. Does anyone have any idea why he makes this play?

This a joke three times over!

I would of folded there for sure , but I wanted to get the right answer for the quiz so I chose raise. I knew It was the opposite of what I would have done.

Indeed, in poker you can't always risk gambling. You have nothing but jack high and your hoping for something on the river, while the small blind obviously has something. Raising here is a really bad read. Call if you want to gamble, but it's not the best option.

Yeah you have Jack High that's it... for gods sake even if he had AK he still has you beat much less a PP what is wrong with the daily poker quiz? I would definitely fold in this situation. what do you gain by raising here?

Question Huh?

Ok, I don't get it. How come no explanation for the "correct" answer. I can't agree with it at all, unless I'm missing something.

Default Glass half empty????

Everyone keeps saying, he has an over pair or he has the flush already, etc etc...

There really isn't enough information to make an informed decision, as the only info given is the table is tight.

Betting in limit poker is almost like a gag reflex, if you are the aggressor, you are practically compelled to bet again(so the only thing we can say for sure about our tight opponent is that he has a hand of some sort, not necessarily that we are drawing dead).

Here is Quizzy's logic(and in this generic situation, accurate): Our opponent is tight... Well, if he has two black Kings your going to freeze him here w/ the raise as he'll assume that you have the flush(why else would you have called the flop?)... Again, we have no idea if our opponent is a phone booth, or like most of you, always assume the worst possibility has come and fold anything except the nuts... If our "tight" opponent 3 bets us, THEN we can safely say we're beat and fold...

Cash games require a certain amount of imagination and guts to compete in, just look at HSP. Anyone here want to call Sam Farha, Doyle Brunson, or Barry Greenstein donkeys because of their hand selections???
