Default Raise?!

Wanted to call as well. But why should I raise here?! i got a gut shot and a very bad flsuh draw. My opponent played the hand very aggressive , so why he shouldn't have maybe an overpair?! Or two overcards with a higher diamond. I think I got just 3 outs to be sure that I won the hand.

I dont get it, on the flop u can call, need about 17 % chance to make a winner. On the turn there is $21 in the pot giving u about 5-1 or u need about 20 % on a call, so u have have about 27% against a overpair, 39% against to overs with no diamond and about 18 % against two overs with a diamond and 7 % against an overpair with a diamond. So i guess there is no way u should fold, but how do u figure out wheter to call or raise?

ps. sorry if this is wrong, im a pot odds and semi limit noob

SOrry, I just dont get that.

How on earth can you raise knowing that the only card that could possibly win you the pot is a 10 and even then its possible you are beaten by the flush anyway.

What would be nice is if they told you what suits your hole cards are. After all, if you are on a flush draw then the odds are far greater than if you are drawing dead to the 10s.

I could argue a case for calling the bet, but I sure as hell couldnt argue a case for raising again.

Everything about this tells me he has an overpair to the board and thats most likely going to be AA or KK.

If he has an overpair in his hand and any one of them is a diamond then you are in proverbial sh1t street because he has all the odds to call any raise you make..

How do you know you have a possible flush when it doesnt tell you what your pocket cards are. All it says is J9 off suit.

That doesnt give any indication that you have a flush draw whatsoever.

top right box, 9 is diamonds lol.

Now i agreed with the call on flop. usually you at least call flop because of the small bet and the fact that there was 14 in the pot 16 after the flop bet(8-1) and a over 20 % chance to win. Maybe dumb but a big shot to win a lot if a 10 or jack rolls off unless he/she has Aces-Kings but still will win alot from those 2 if the 10 lands. On the turn though now ur calling 4 into a pot of 22 with a flush out there. That changes everything before if he had A-K diamonds ur J-9 and straight were live now you are almost drawing dead. I hope something happens on the river where one of the options is call and it says "You called and you opponent turned over a ____" because i really want to know what the quiz guy gave the other player.

You can't even justify this play by saying if you hit you will take his stack this is limit. I hit fold, was completely surprised it was wrong, hit the back button on my browser, re-read the question and hit fold again, somehow I was still surprised the second time it turned out to be wrong.

Smile help!!

not really, i like to see an improvement for my hand by 4th str., i feel i'm drawing dead, fold was my choice. i don't think my opp is bluffing, i wanted to take control, but he beat me to the punch, there'll be another hand. now i think he's holding PP's. bluffing right now for me is not an option.

I would have called to take a chance to see if it was straight or flush. Here only two button fold or raise. So I picked raised. Remember it was the limited game. Why not raise? I called it gut.

I already expressed the idiocy of calling in yesterday's quiz. Today, I'm almost speechless. Re-raising this fiasco of a hand only make this series of event that much more bizarre. Even stranger is that the vote is split, but the overwhelming majority of posts folded. Maybe they don't want to identify their donk play in the face of more sensical answers.

There was someone yesterday (who shall remain nameless) who responded something to the effect of "it's okay if you don't hit, as long as you're left with some chips."
