if i remind right it was written..."besides you have good odds to call when your opponent has not a pocket." i would really REALLY like to know the name of the guy who makes the quiz here. knowing that you are with J9 even against crap like QJ(!!!) far behind i, well...what can i say how ridiculous IMHO the move to call an reraise is...
oops...i got again punked ...i know it since i joined that the quiz is only here to start discussions in the forum
because noone would follow this suggestions which are as correct published. and if he would he would be soon a broken railbird

That was a horrible question. It wasn't even menntioned how much the reraise was. Sure I would see a flop for a minimum raise, but this person thinks you should call with a reraise of 4 or 5x. no way.

Ehh. Bad for my image to fold in this case? No different from getting caught bluffing in my book, and cheaper than going all the way to the river with a bluff, too. I don't mind if my opponents think I'm trying to steal the blinds once in a while. If they do, I'm more likely to get action when I catch a real hand on the button or cut-off.

I might call a reraise with J9o once in a while just because of the implied odds if I hit a good flop -- especially if my stack can afford it -- but besides those pocket pairs there are a lot of other hands that would dominate J9o.

Go back and read the particulars in the box. It's a limit game. The raise and reraise are defined by the limits.

And actually, now that I've re-read it myself, I probably would call this reraise in a limit cash game.

Your answer

Call (correct)

Railbird motivation

Correctamundo! You have odds to call and position on your opponent. The flop will get to decide whether to keep playing the hand or not.

------------------------------

I completely agree with the answer and the motivation. In a NL game, against a significantly high re-raise, I'd probably let it go... but in a limit game, you're priced in with position.

UMMM.

How about telling us the amount we raised, and the amount of the reraise, stack sizes?

Awful question with a capital A.

Never mind. Missed that it was a limit game.

My fault.
