Just another good example why folding is the most important move in poker.

Default I would just mug them all

Well how do i explain i fired the 3rd bet but only 15,000 simple. I would think that it would take him down i would have put him on an over pocket pair with a missed flush draw. I agree the allin bet is saying please call me its a bluff. But Mike made a plan at the beginning of the hand not by just his cards but who he was playing. And you got to follow the plan and you dont always throw away the hand just cus its beat. Besides I would have been trying to get phil on tilt earlier by just talking about Jennifer. According to you he didnt have the nuts he had king hi flush he cant be too confident in his hand and if mike didnt play like mike he may have taken it. I remember the time i called an allin bet with king hi flush just to see ace hi flush. It happens a lot. Phil would have folded to either a 15000 bet or a check raise but thats iffy for him to bet at it. Especially against mike.

I find it funny that I played the same exact why Mike did, not to mention that I have actually seen that episode before lol

I chose check-fold. I understand why Mike played it the way he did, he's got a LAG image, and Phil won't have a flush all the time there so a shove is probably profitable in the long run for Mike. I don't think it's right or always right, which is why I said check/fold. Phil won't call twice and his snap call on the flop leads me to believe he's got something good.

I decided to fire another bullet at it
I have been betting like I wanted to keep him in the hand and now ill throw a Pot size bet in

All in is a bad move here but I dont want to just check it either
15k IMO is alittle on the smaller side and I would be calling with the K high flush though I would think alot more with the pot size bet

Default um ok?

The river was a safe card. if phil had a diomond draw, he missed and 15K more would show him u have a hand that beats his busted flush draw. I would be weary to call with just a pair here. so betting the river is not that bad of a play.

of course he was drawing dead and didnt know it, but hey he was a victim of circumstance. there are many times when you would win the hand right there!

Default Fire on the River

Of course it is impossible to always predict a flush. Firing an oversized bet or all-in, puts you at risk to lose everything (and Mike is capable of doing this time and again).

By placing the value bet (and I do agree that 15k might be a little low) you will generally force your opponent to really think twice about continuing with the hand. However Mike ran into the brick wall... nothing you can do about that, but if he had just placed the value bet he'd at least still be alive.

Default Mike Matusow

I personally think Mike Matusow is in a far lower league than other pro players, especially the ones at this table. He always looks like he's about to cry when he loses pots like the aforementioned, and wonders off in a sulk, going on about how unlucky he is. He continuously (what I have seen of him) plays like an amature allowing emotion etc disrupt his game, very loose, tilt's more than anyone, and in my opinion should quit whilst he's ahead. I wouldnt have got involved in such a situation in the first place so its hard to put myself in his place. He's an idiot.
