Default Average?

If you call this average, I'd hate to see your bad hands.....

i also agree, i personally think 10/5 pre flop is not the best of hands head up, if ud just flat called he could re raise then u waste chips cuz ud have to fold, id say fold 100%. but eh my opinon

against a tight player in some heads up situations it can't be wrong to raise nearly every hand. and if he re-raises pre-flop, there's no problem to get away from a hand like T5.

Without knowing what has occurred in the previous 3 to 4 hands I really can't give a valid answer. So you are going to raise with very marginal hands every time....that is what the correct answer was this time. Look I agree raising with trash is something you should do once in awhile but not always. Therefore there is no correct answer to this questions. Sometimes you should fold, other times call or raise; but to say raise is the correct answer in incorrect.

I know that most everyone is whaling on 10/5 being a bad hand...

However, a very very good player(he is, also, a proffessional dealer at Harrahs) taught me that in heads-up, 10/5 is a good limp hand to see a flop heads-up, small blinds. You can hit high, low or inbetween for the straights.

I had never looked at it that way before. On line, I just don't see too many 5/10 downs hit.

But, in live poker, I was pleasantly surprised to see the 10/5 theory fly. Also, A/5 had the same philsophy.

However, to invest 30Xs the BB on it....well....I feel a lump in my throat coming on.

I chose the fold, but I would not always do it. I usually fold a few mediocre hands to the BB, call some, raise some, and really try to keep my play mixed up.

My opinion is a fold now and then heads up never hurts, it sometimes makes your opponent think when you do call or raise with low to medium strength hands you have something.

It seems fairly obvious, at least to me, that many of you atre thinking in a tournament or sit-n-go game type of thought processes. It's an average hand from the deck, not necessarily an average "calling or betting" hand, people. You're playing heads up if you pick and choose to many hands you blind out to a desperation betting situation and eventually you're gonna be really deep in the bad calling practices area. So to speak. I got it correct. Wish I was more knowledgeable though.

Good luck on the tables!
