I dissagre with this adamently. 1000 in the pot and they are saying you should go 800 and 2200 on the river. After you get called on the turn that puts 2600 in the pot and then you bet 2200. You are giving better odds to call in this senario then the 500+2000 senario. If you're completely bluffing then you don't want a call so why give someone better odds. I understand that it looks like you have a huge hand that wants to get paid off but 80% of people who play poker don't think that long and hard about things that deeply. I doubt most poker players will understand that calling 2000 to win 4000 is a bad call.... depending on what the other person has. Based on the question we have to assume that both people have air and you're just trying to take the pot down. So unless you're a complete donk and retard you don't call 2000 to win a pot of 4000 with nothing.
