I am in the SB with about 4500 in chips, started with 3k, and I am dealt AA, blinds are 200-400, the action is folded around to me in the SB. I double up the blinds and raise to 800, BB has about 2500 in chips and is a pretty weak player. Flop 8,A,8. I check, BB moves all in, I call. He turns up 8-10. Turn is of course the case 8. I double him up and down to about 2k in chips. I guess I could have bet more preflop, but I wanted the action being a 4-1 favorite.

I sit out a few hands and the blinds are raised to 300-600, again I have right around 2k in chips. Same situation. Action is folded around to me in the SB with A-8 suited. I push all-in, BB calls me with 55. Flop A,8,4 turn Q river 5. So the old one outer, two outer to get knock out of this one.

You could have avoided the first beat by raising 3x the bb and forcing the bb to fold. You gave him the proper pot odds to call and he did. Then he called the flop because he had a set of eights. You can't fault him for that. Your opponent did not make a mistake in the first hand because you didn't give him the opportunity to. On the second hand, you only had a little over 3x the bb and he had a pocket pair. When the money went in, he was the favorite. The second loss could probably not have been avoided. But, the first loss was brought on by the fact that you gave your opponent proper pot odds to continue the hand.
