Unhappy two and out

I am normally a good sport and don't let too much get to me.....heck I've been losing pretty consistently for a while now with no hard feeling to show for it. But every now and then a tourney gets under your skin and there is nothing you can do but laugh it off and vent on a poker forum

I was playing in my first railbird freeroll. (playing fairly tight, I might add). I'm holding A,9 off and in the small blind. I limp in to 20/40 blinds. Flop comes up A,9,2 all different suits. I make a 100 dollar bet and get raised all in by another player. I call hesitantly thinking he may have pocket 9's or even pocket 2's. He has Ks,2s to give him low pair and three spades. Turn comes 4s. River comes Qs. He wins the pot and takes half my chips.

Same player, same tourney, same table, Blinds now 100/200. I raise to 600 pre-flop with pocket Q's. He is the only player that calls. Flop comes J,8,3 (2 spades). He bets 300. I raise to 1200. He pushes me all-in. I call. He flips a K,J offsuit. Turn comes 10h. River comes Ks. He wins with two pair and knocks me out of tourney.

Two times of going into a pot with best hand and losing anyway is enough to get anybody a little riled up

I love poker

got 1 better "on pokerstars" holding jack 10 off suit i call 400 bet flop is 2 of spades i think queen and king diamonds" another bet 800 i think the turn is an ace of hearts the player on my right bets 2600 i go all in 2 players fold the player on my right calls my 8800 chip bet with 3 and 4 diomands so guess what hits on the river 5 of diamonds lost it all 2 a flush. its hard 4 me to beleive people call with cards like that or am i not as smart as i think i am? let me know what u think if im wrong i guess i will have 2 start playing different.

Hi,

I had a guy doing the same thing to me the other night... He wound up stealing about 2/3 of my stack in two hands. Luckily I was able to come back and retake my chips and eventually the win.

Having the best hand is a double edged sword. On the one hand, I want people with weaker hands to call my big bets, so I can take down a big pot. On the other hand, I don't want those weaker hands to get lucky and suck out on me, but it does happen.

I've gotten to the point where I try not to be too pissed off about being outdrawn and I've learned to live with my bad beats. And you know, If there wasn't any risk involved, I don't think I'd play at all.

OT

From my experience you should be willing to go broke with top two pair on rainbow flop only because the chances of having a pocket pair is 1 in 6 and hitting a set is 1 in 8 so most of the time your good. If someone bets out you should deff. re-raise 4 to 5 times his bet depending on how hard you want to play it but never just call. Take control of the hand make him make the decision, control and position are everything in poker.

I can't tell you how many times the experience you had has put me out of a game. But then again I can't tell you how many times I have put out a person the same way. some times the cards you get, you have a feeling or instinct that they are the winners. and then sometimes that is the cards you see falling on the table most often.
Not to say that I play that way but at the table yesterday, it seemed that eights were on every set. and then after awhile fours were. and then there are tables that seem to have all low ball cards consistantly .
What I am trying to say is that even if you think you have the winning had, your oppponent thinks he does too.
