Professional Roads: Never As Planned

This first "official" week 1 has gone anything but planned. This damn cold has got me so dragged down I am not coming close to maintaining a schedule. Been sleeping too much, but when your sick that's the way your body heals itself so not much I can do until this cold runs its course. Even with that I have discovered a few things already.

First off when I have a day off I am letting my self sleep in a bit so will eliminate the 6am freeroll. Today I slept through that one and through the 7am one as well. Secondly, 100 step 1s a week may not be realistic. Maybe its just being sick, but I feel so dragged down and I have played 12 step 2s with no advancement. My head has just not been in several of them and I made errors admittedly, but it is also a time thing 3 SNGs just to possibly make a dollar seems like an area where I could be using my time a bit better so to that end I will not have a set goal amount for them and may cut them out completely. Instead I have been checking out the $1 4 table 6 max PLO on Hero. 24 players 1st place gets 50 cents, 2nd 25 cents, 3rd 15 cents and 4th 10 cents. They run 3 and only 3 of them at a time. I think overall these are far better for producing some funds albeit they will come in small doses. Played 4 of them tonight finished in the money twice with a 3rd and a 4th. The last one I was too tired to play on and donked it.

I got a late start in these but it is obvious to me that these and the MTT freerolls are the way to go. a couple more cashes and I can start playing the 33 cent $30 guarantees that Hero has at 8pm each night. These things payout the top 10 and have 12 minute blinds so is a full tournament structure type. I checked them out and tonight the PLO had just 25 players, the NLH 40 and the HORSE 29. The starting stacks are 2500 or 3000 depending on what game you play. First place pays $9 as these seem to have an overlay so this is definitely a start and could easily have me going in the right direction. Starting tomorrow I will be grinding the PLO SNG freerolls and then hopefully at least 1 of the Micro hero $30 guarantees and hopefully more. The Carbon freerolls will now be played on Hero as it is the same tournament but if I cash I want the money going on Hero poker as they seem to have more options and opportunities for those of us building from nothing.

Only a 4.5 hour shift tomorrow for the holiday. Tomorrow I will be playing and grinding the freerolls by noon I would think. Now time to relax and get some sleep. 430am comes mighty early and back to work. Take care all and be well.
