Random Question

123 2012-07-04 00:11:59
Your playing sunday million and your in 4/10 on bubble of final table your in the big blind, with AA and theres 3 people all in before you, how many of you if any would be obligated to fold because of the tournament, final table spot and how many times aces get cracked, just nice to see all your opinions :)

One vital piece of info here that is missing is chip stack sizes.

Part of my 2nd comment on this whole thing

it needs more information to correctly choose between call and fold . . . .

the real answer here though is "it depends . . . . "

Agree'd whoever made this question and left that out is a moron =D

Personally, I think this question needs more information. Particularly, the stack sizes
of the players that made the all-in moves. If two short stacks pushed all-in, followed by
a deeper stack trying to isolate, it would be a lot easier to call. However, if the action
is started with a big stack making a move, followed by multiple calls, it would be much
easier to fold. The reason for this is the range of hands you're likely to face and in
the latter example, you're more likely to be up against multiple pairs, which is not a
good situation to be in facing the likelihood of another player making a set over your
pair.

Pretty much a good reason to stay & nest here when Curt & Slo-mo lock horns on a blog. You
guys are Great when it comes to explaining stuff and making me think about hands & the
do`s & dont`s. I can safely say i dont know wat the hell i wud do in this situation unless
i was put in it & more or less wud determine my next move by knowing wat the feck i was up
against. This wud be a fantastic blog if the info was there to help. Without the said
info, then i wud more than likely live with being a good favourite and take a chance on my
tournament life, but we all differ in our decisions :)

But I think shoving would be the correct move, just not my move in this situation.

HaHa! I havent been on in a bit but can always count on Curt for some fun bloggery. And if
I was at the final table of the Sunday Million between trying not to crap my pants and
focusing on the game, I personally would fold. I wouldnt want to, but with so much $ for
each place I'd have to. Now if I had a million $s in the bank or it was a $1 MTT I"d
snaperoo.

I'm done with this. If you want to continue debating you can do so with someone else or
yourself. Don't care at this point. I've said my piece.

you don't know the AA is 64% . . . it could be as low as a flip, you are assuming facts
not in evidence

It's roughly the same odds of victory as AK against a single opponent, you said so
yourself

nickomcbrain

different situation
1 vs 1
definite call with ak
got to win with them or beat them
insta call

question for those calling . . . .

say you have AK in the BB, and the big stack in the cut-off shoves . . . are you calling
this bet?

This is how AK got into this

2012-07-06 22:29:50

royalkid7575

but also AK vs one random hand would take a little more thinking obviously

AK 3 handed all in would be an insta fold, imo if we didnt have aa and we had AK

nickomcbrain

for me its a dream situation
i have the best hand pre and a chance to triple and go for the big payday
aa is by no way ak
dont know why ak jumped into this discussion
start was 3 allin and you have aa
its complicated enough - leave ak alone
especially for small players like me
i just enjoy reading you pros

No I don't, what part of KNOWING your ahead and NOT KNOWING are the same information? In
one I am 64% in the other I'm either 48% or 64% not that same as KNOWING for sure.

In one I'm pretty much guaranteed a final table cash should I lose, unless the 3 all in
happen to be the ones with more chips than me, and if they are 3 of the 6 shorter stacks
I'm still in the game. In the other should I lose I'm guaranteed 10th and nothing else.

How is any of this the same?

I don't even need to use my awesome in this discussion, it's no contest.

2012-07-06 22:25:11

curtinsea

sure you do, you have just as much information in both cases, you're either a flip or as
much as 64% favorite . . . somewhere between even and 2 to 1

2012-07-06 22:20:00

slo-mo

Difference is I have no idea where I'm at in the AK hand as opposed to the AA hand, there
is no trying to determine if I'm ahead or not, I KNOW I AM with AA, with AK I have no
clue, so because of that I go with the case of a flip, which by the way isn't worse case.

3 random hands lol.. wp slo

Dude, what part of "that's not a fair comparison" don't you get . . .

Dude, what part of 64% against 3 random hands, vs 48% against any pair do
you not get?

you said it yourself . . . AA vs 3 random hands = 64% AK vs any random hand about
64%

that is a fair comparison . . . . against the big stack at the table heads up, you still
become the dominant force in the game.

You can't assume the worst case in the AK scenario and the best case in the AA scenario
and call it a comparison
