Is HU SnG even profitable?

9 2009-02-27 10:05:11
Is this even profitable game? I ran hot once and built my roll by playing HU SnG but lately I've been losing to set vs set or some never ending suck outs. I get the guy to 500 from 1500 chip stack and he sucks out to double up, not once but ***** 4 times in row. Get him to less than 500 again and boom, suck out and he doubles up. This is ridiculous. Lost like 10 buyins in row, PStars and FTP.

Anybody here consistently can grind HU SnG? I think variance is way high in this, I gotta find something else to play.

prodigy how u gonna respond to rogabee like that?
the question in the post was "is it even profitable"?
the guy says, yes look up my stats.
you're gonna dog him because his ROI isn't high enough for your liking?
I haven't done any in-depth analysis of it, but I would be some of the best heads-up players in the world would tell you your ROI cannot be as high because of the math involved.

rogabee, i did look u up on opr for HU on full tilt and i dont mean to bash you, but youve won right at 420k in HU but youve only profited 19k. Now dont get me wrong 19k is alot of money and alot more than ive made so far, but you really should have atleast a 50k profit to consider yourself quite successful with that amount of games played and won.

I play a variety and manage to make a little.  I usually play the 9 seat table or more and pretty much play the HU and the two Omaha games.

well i dont play them very often but i do everyonce in a while, usually give my BR a boost. Im building from Freerolls nad im at 25 bucks right now, i plau the 2.25 8 playrs 2 spots paid turbo HU matches, they work nicely because u need to beat two ppl and u will win either twice ur buyin or 5 times. with a 4 person HU its only 1st place wins and its 4 times the buyin (which is nice but i think the other one is safer and has more opportunities) the 1v1 i think is terrible because of rake and that if u win under 6 of them u lose money and in reality u need to win more than 6 to get some profit because of the rake. in the 8 person HU u can lose 3 and win 1 and still be 2 buyins ahead. I prefer MTT but the occasional HU match really gives ur BR a nice boost.
