John Wayne has been my hero all my life. I have nearly every movie he has ever made that I can get my hands on But you know what I really love about him? He LOVED HIS COUNTRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you know ...........................
According to the January 29, 2009 Harris Poll, John Wayne was tied at 3rd with Will Smith for America's favorite actor? And he's been dead 30 years.
He liked to play cards? Our kinda guy
He made over 175 movies?
He weighed 13 lbs when he was born? Ouch!!
He holds the record for the most leading roles by an actor, at 142?
The name he was born with was changed from Marion Robert Morrison to Marion Michael Morrison?
He didn't like horses? Who could have guessed?
He died in 10 of his movies?
------------------------------
One of my favorite movies "McClintock." He certainly had a way with women .... weeeeee!!!
Another favorite ..... such beautiful scenery in Ireland

One of his best roles "Rooster Cogburn"

I named my second son Jacob after him in this movie .....
He was a man's man ...............

And to the man who died on my 22nd birthday and I loved as much as everyone did, he will always be .....

I own several of his movies also. My favorite is one of the last ones he did "The Cowboys" and my fav line from that movie is "we're burnin daylight", lol. Could have done without Bruce Dern in it tho.
I started collecting his movies because I am an Old West fanatic and what says Old West better than John Wayne?
When I was a kid, I went on a field trip aound Balboa Island and I still remember the tour guide pointing him out standing on the rocks waving to all of us. To this day I'm not really sure it was him, but it looked like him.

Obviously the greatest actor EVER!!! There are alot of amazing facts about the Duke!! He also loved to fight and was in alot of brawls with very successful outcomes.LOL According to some actor buddies NO ONE in a Hollywood bar would mess with him lol. He died way too soon. The Shootist was kind of a "hurried' retrospective on his life and career.Would have like to have seen what he would have done had he had a long time to make more movies. Ron Howard's movie acting debut was in The Shootist and he spoke very highly of John Wayne and credited him with alot of his movie success.............DL

I have been a life long fan too - Over the years I have collected a bunch of his collectables but my favorite is a signed John Wayne Bowie knife. If you ever get to Texas go to Bracketsville which John Wayne built to film the Alamo.
