I'm sure I'll get it for this one,....

Had a comment deleted because I said a$$.

Was demeaned by someone who has been a long time member because I used that word, stating it was a "vulgar cuss word", which was not even directed at him, but used while defending him. Guess if people could get past one word and read an entire sentence, they could figure that out.

Funny thing happened- I was surfing through some archived blogs, found this same person in discussions (if that's what you want to call them) with several other people. One of the people was abviously a "friend", ...the other, a newbie. Now, what makes this funny is- the "friend" used ASS, HELL, PISSES and STFU (ppl, we know what it means, just as bad as cussing if youre going to take that road!)... but he did not once complain about it or have his "friends" comment deleted. I guess it is tolerable if the person cussing is in agreement with your opinion,.... oh WAIT! I was too,... but that is neither here not there now, is it?

And while observing this blog and all the comments, I could not help but notice that my accuser is somewhat of a newbie demeaner. I see his opinions are highly regarded, and that is fine, he seems to have a good view on what poker is, for the most part. But why put other people down, and degrade them becuse they play differently than you do? Doesn't seem like this person wants to be helpful, but feel empowered ... IMHO. Looks to me like someone just likes to see his words on the monitor, but repitition makes for a dull effect.

I dont even know what more to say on the subject,... no, thats not true,... I have plenty to say on the subject but I am sure it will not be worth it in the end. I joined because a member here at ft told me it was fun, insightful, helpful and friendly. For the most part, I am in agreement with this, but it only takes a couple of people to ruin that.

If I get banned or this gets deleted because I am posting MY OPINIONS and REPEATING what someone else used as cuss words (which by the way, again, did not get deleted or have them banned) then so be it. If that is what this is all about, I dont want it.

using the words of my accuser...

If i am disrespected, I wont put up with it, period.

If I am attacked, I am going to defend myself.

ive noticed that there is a different set of rules for different people..if your well liked you cant be touched ..its like a popularity contest around here..gl to you

barbgirl hit the nail on the head. this is a private club. youre either in the click, or youre not. im very proud to say im not. i see what happens when an outsider voices their opinion. my neighbor across the street got me interested in this site. now hes banned for sticking up for himself after one of the more popular members told a few obvious lies about him. fortunately, he can laugh it off. sadly, most people here cant.

There does at times seem like there are 2 sets of rules. However, the prorails look at the blogs, forum posts and responses that complaints are made about. If the author of a blog complained about your response and not another then the Prorails may not have looked at the blog completely and just looked at your response. Also when you signed up you did agree to follow a set of rules. If you follow those you won't or shouldn't get deleted or banned.

good for you queen.

should we invite him to this blog? hmmmmm. lol

Railbirds has a lot of segregation but I have noticed a lot of people in that clique you were referring to are

1) not posting significant poker accomplishments

2) advising others about how to run their game

3) convinced their word is the authority

and we on the outside have front row seats to laught at their inflated egos and take advantage of our opportunites to play solid poker by our own experiences.

I know he got under your skin today. But there are really a lot of people, and programs here, which are NOT hostile or all-knowing so I hope you find a place where you are comfortable.

Anyway. Let me know how it works out. I'm glad you decided to discuss what was bothering you.

CAREFUL!!!! LMFAO This is the sort of thing I got banned for. I decided to give them a real reason though. Cant wait until they actually figure it out. AS IF.

I was afraid to read the comments, just cringing at the blasts I was going to receive.

I did, while waiting for responses, go thru the terms of use.

I personally did not see ANYWHERE in these terms that use of profanity is intolerable.

I DID however, see that defaming others is prohibited.

anyway, thanks for the input. i am not trying to open up a can of worms, simply stating my feelings.

It is kind of sad, I guess. One might as well give up forums and go play yahoo games and speak their minds in the game lobbies,.... you should see the VULGARITY there!!!

havent had any negative comments, ... so maybe Im not so wrong???

RaiseBaby Oct 4, 2007 11:16 pm

of course you are not wrong dear.

it's a forum. where ideas and concepts get freeley exchanged, unless you are "that guy" lol. And you're entitled to your own thoughts, please don't let anyone convince you otherwise.

I'm thinking of letting said expert in on this blog. I'd love to see him in a more in-hospitable environment.
