Here is what actually happened to me in the hand. It was late and I wanted to play something. So I sat down at a $1.00 9 player Sit and Go (Well done Mcleaver. Lots of callers and chasers). I knew it would be fairly quick and I’m not risking that much money…
Disclaimer: I WAS A TOTAL DONK IN THIS HAND!!
To me, this is exactly how you wouldn’t play it. I allowed too many people to stay in this pot. I had taken some seriously bad beats in hands in the tournament before and wanted to get as many chips in this hand, in this tournament, as I could. GREED partly did me in. Hahaha Opps
The other thing (maybe really the only true one) was the open ended straight flush draw. I wanted it SO BADLY! I was enamored by it. And after analyzing my play once it was over, I can tell by my play that I was probably wasn’t playing my hand like I had a straight, but rather, more like a flush draw…
This is VERY embarrassing, but here it is…

I am a little surprised hardly anyone seemed that concerned about the Straight Flush draw though. I really thought more would have been playing towards that a little bit…
After seeing the hand in it’s entirety (Barring not knowing the buy in)… How do you think you did?

HAHA Well thanks Scott! I thought Donk was about right too... I was a little suprised that those two, not on draws stayed in though...
And thanks for the compliment about tonight. I wasn't getting anything and that large of a bet seemed like AK to me... I was wrong. Haha Lesson learned...
okay thanks this whole thing was killing me i had a feeling that there was going to be a full house from blog one damn i am headed to the city to get my license on being a psychic license
The one on your right, bytch7 (lol @ the usernames some folks choose), I still can't figure out. I guess the weak bets convinced him(?) he might be ahead. I figured the SB right tho. C-bet got called, and he was done with it.
Anyway, I'm just gonna come out and say it: You turned a potentially profitable hand into a loser by playing like a donkey. Not that there's anything wrong with that, some of my best friends are donkeys. In fact, I'd lay 2:1 odds that I make more donkey moves than you do. It's just a good thing that you did it in a place that couldn't hurt your bankroll much.
Ok, now looking back, if you played it the way I suggested, you either would have either won a small pot or got stacked, depending on how fishy smalltowngirly really was.
Good plan Mcleaver!
Iknowwhatyouhav: Well... I couldn't put anyone on Jacks. At this point I still think there was a possibility I was ahead since no one would have made any draws.
The other reason was tilt. I called because I was mad at myself for playing it this way. I could have seen it from the other player but at this point didn't care.
I didn't bring my game to this buy in. That is really where I failed...
In all honesty I think my biggest mistake was on the flop. I should have protected my straight from a higher flush draw. I didn't. I WANTED that straight flush.
I did know it at the time as I do now. But.... Didn't pull the trigger... *sigh*
i would probably went allin on turn
letting evreyone know i at least had trips
but if someone is going to call with a7 and two over cards
a. hes a dumbass
b.hes a idiot
c. i would throw shit
wasnt talking about you water pilot
the idiot calling with the 7
Haha Easy! I was suprised to see she hung on with 75. Maybe because it was soooooooooooted.
And LOL @ "c. i would throw shit"
Thanks Farging... I knew I was taking a risk by slow playing it. Especially with that many people in the hand. But...
Yeah Colover. I'm not sure what she was doing in the hand but... It paid off. That's just more money for us down the road...
