I'm Baffled...

Aug 7, 2007 7:28 am Report Abuse

OMG I've been getting KILLED all night by nonsense in sit and go's... 3 in a row. I expected better play from (relatively) higher(ish) end tables, but I guess not. Suckouts and people playing nonesense. Like, Q 4 off to my raise and flopping two pair (Q and 4)!?!?!? I'm so frustrated. Finally, in my last tournament that I lost, someone called my outrageous 800 chip raise (Blinds were 80) with K 4 suited and got the flush. I looked at my betting and think that I may have been able to prevent some of it but how do I prevent some of that? How can I for see that coming? I never saw the Q4. Who plays that? I don't think I'd even play that suited... GRRRRRRRR

Okay... I guess I'm done venting. I hope everyone else is having better luck then I am...

i always try to avoid committing myself to a pot unless i know relatively what they have.if you watch a players betting paterns and what hand varietys they play it will help you make better decisions.betting 800 pre flop unless you only had 800 is gambling no matter what you have.i hope this helps and gl at the tables

My friend, we all have days like this. I hoist a pint to your basic humaness.

I agree Iknow... The reason it was that high was to try and keep the junk out that I'd been seeing. Everyone folded to me. I was on the button and with only the blinds to act. I had AQ. Small Blind called with the suited K7.

But, I understand what you are saying and are right. I was prolly tilting a little bit. haha Thanks for the advice!

Thanks Drofnas! I appreciate to hoist!

Depending on my stack, I play Jacks differently.... if I feel I'm behind in the tourney or need to move, I will likely all-in them preflop... if I'm in good position I'll usually play them as a midpair....
