1 of the worst games ever

I just sat through 56 hands of pure hell in a 90 man $3.30 SNG. Ok 1st I got sat on a table with 6 yes 6 calling stations. Now normally calling stations are my bread and butter when there are 1 or 2 on the table I just wait for the nuts or a really good hand to play against them and take their chips. I don't bluff them nor do I put them all in on the flop. I am patient and I wait for the turn when I know I have them dominated and then I get them all in almost drawing dead. However being on a table with 6 of them meant I couldn't bluff at all with any hand. I tried to bluff the SB when every one folded around to me on hand 47 and the dumbazz called me. Luckily he had K4 to my K5 and it was a split pot. But I only got 1 hand out of the 56 that I could play at all and, that was KK on hand number 56 I went all in from UTG2 and what happened I got 2 callers and you know what fell on the flop, the ace of course, Then one of the player wents all in I knew he had the ace and I was in big trouble. He not only had the A but 1 of my K's also. LOL. I will tell you I love this game but, being card dead for over and hour, picking up a premium hand and then have that chit happen sucks.

The GOOD NEWS is, they won't ever fold a hand. The BAD NEWS is, they won't ever fold a hand.
dont take offense but u DEF need to widen ur starting range
Better read this one if you play on Full Tilt. I have never seen so many high card flops in my life. Unless you Get AA, then some idiot with A6 os will hit 2345

You know there are 6 full out "Calling Stations" at the table and YOU tried "Bluffing" against them? And YOU think pushing "ALL-IN UTG" against them on a good pair, and it surprised YOU that two of them called? Even these "Calling Stations" waited until after the flop when they knew a LOTTTTTT more about thier hands (28,57% pre-flop to 71.42% after the flop) plus details like how many players are staying in, ect.
I know its frustrating we have all been there way to often but I don't know how loudly I'd be throughing around wourds like "Dumb and azz"
I am just saying
The best hand I got dealt other than the KK was w7 in the BB with a raise and a reraise all in before it got to me. No suited connectors, I only got dealt AX 4 times and everyone of them was either UTG or had raise or all in beofre it got to me. If it was raised I reraised and then the would shove. What do you do with that, keenberg? I understand about opening your playing range but, when I went back over the hand reviews I would have only won 2 hands. 1 of the was 74 os dealt to me UTG2 and the other was Q2 os dealt to me in middle position. LOL. Normally I play all kinds of hands-suited connectors, pocket pairs, AX suited, A10 and higher, J10 suited and higher. I have about a 50-70 hand starting range in tourny's depending on position and the other player. These guys were calling people down with bottom pair though. Hell one of them called an all in on the turn with a pair of pocket 3's. The sad thing is he caught a 3 on the river to hit a full house.
dear bird,
It happens quite a bit to me when I'm playing cash tourneys...I basically try to see cheap flops in the first hour, but am not too disappointed if I am still at my starting stack...Hour 2 is when you start to make more plays, bluffs, etc...table image will carry you for a few pots....I told my friend mrj9suited, that I am either going to get knocked out in the first hour, or I will be playing in the last hour and I think that is a good sign that my game is improving....
Overall though bird, there always comes a time in a tourney when you are going to have to go in with the worst of it and catch....If you do, that will propel you to the next level, and if not, then that is the end....Very rarely am I knocked out with the worst of it, to be honest, so I guess I can't complain....I can only complain about the improbable hand that has knocked me out....lol...A fine example was a few days ago in the Ferguson...There were 74 people left out of 1700, I was shortstacked, BB, and I get AA...perfect right? Wrong! The small blind puts me all in (which I wanted) he flips over J3 offsuit and proceeds to donk me out of the tourney...the board also paired on the turn, eliminating his chance to 2 pair me out, but he hit the improbable J, J on the river to KO me....Once again, I got my money in good and was STILL knocked out....What do you do besides put out another " Full Tilt sucks" blog!!! LOL.....
gl next time bird,
the limpitt
robert, let me be as clear here as I can be, because I don't have any real issues with the plays you made, when you made them. when your up to your butt in alligators you pretty much have to stop and fight alligators. The thing is it doesn't make the alligators "Dumbazzs" when they win these fights.
My only issue is the TOTAL LACK OF RESPECT you show for the game of poker and the players you compete with when you don't do as well as you think you should have. Poker is a compitetion and a "Game" ANYTHING ANY OTHER PLAYER does that helps them and hurts you IS A GOOD MOVE FOR THEM. Anything a player does that hurts them more then it helps you is STUPID! If you do something to get them to fold, and thier staying in screws your play/game even a little bit, they are doing what they should do. The very fact that at least two of these "Calling Stations" at your table had you out stacked enough that they could take a chance and call your pre-flop all-in and still have chips to manuver with tells me one thing, something was working better for them then it was for you up until this point.
In 1982-83 I saw Doyle Brunson and Amarillo Slim interviewed live in Las Vegas and they said some things I hopefully will never forget.
1. Doyle was asked " Whats the best hand you've ever played?" He replied " The top 100 best hands I've ever played are all good hands I didn't play against better hands, It's simply impossible to ever win it all, and way to easy to lose it all"
Slims reply to the same question was "The last time I won a pot, what ever I did, my skill, my luck, some stupid ass mistake that some how won me money is EXACTLY what I should have done and need to do again every time in that exact situation, PERIOD! You don't score poker by how well you played, or by percentage points to the third place, Your scored in cold hard dollars and cents leave with less means you lost, leave with more means you won, leave with a lot more means your "The One" this time" Doyle changed his answer to slims LOL
Doyle was asked "How hard is it to go back to playing poker against weaker players after facing this level of near poker perfection?" (This was an early version of what is now the W.S.O.P) At which time Slim interupted and said , and I quote" That is with out a doubt the dumbest question anyone has ever been paid to ask us, isn't it Dolly? It's all those "weaker players" your words not ours, that let us make a pretty good living at it, if we had to play against each other and players like Stu (Unger) and Johnny (Moss) we would be better off getting up off our lazy ass's and actually working for a living. Good players NEED not as good players, it's the players who can't win against the not as good players that don't want them in the game." and they both laughed.
And finally they asked Slim " So you want as many Donkeys* at the table when you play?" and Slim said and again I qoute "Don't you dare say I said that, The easiest way to spot a "Donkey*" at the table is he will be the one calling other players things like "Donkeys*" because NO real poker player would ever be that stupid, and no one that stupid could ever be a real poker player."...Doyle added " And if YOU can't find a way to win against the really bad players then poker just isn't your game son, It doesn't make you any less of a man because you play worse then the bad players, but telling everyone about it might LOL"
Sorry to run on but I believe like they do, the only thing more important then winning like a man is losing like a man.
I am just saying
Sorry I forgot my foot note for the word "Donkey" in Slims quote, The words actually used was "Sheep" but it translates directly into todays "Donkey"
sorry
np Ironman and I understand what you are saying and you are right. Now that I have had a chance to cool off a little I realize that I was wrong. I normally don't call other players names and for that I am sorry. I was just frustrated at not getting any hands and then having the one hand I had that was playable get crushed.
Thanks for setting my mind str8 and GL on the felts
Believe me I completely understand the frustration that poker enjoys spreading around. Believe me my play has got to be even more frustrating then most. (At least to me LOL) I am 100% with you on all of that, trust me.
Maybe I win so little that I appreciate taking all the credit for "MY WINS" and I can't ever do that if I don't have anything to do with my loss's. There are a lot of factors that influance the out come in a poker hand/table most of which we have little or no control over. OUR ACTIONS are the one exception.
Glad there are no hard felings, and good luck on the felt.
P.S. The idea of there being players who play so badly that I can't find a way to out play them, simply can't be true for me, If I didn't at least believe I might play better then the worse players some of the time it would crush my soul.LOL
