OK at this point I just don't think he has a set or Aces or even some weird straight .. but he could have and I would be dead. However, I think it's much more likely that he has pocket 8's. Don't know why I thought it but anyhow ....

Well, that's probably the best possible hand for me .. now all I have to do is dodge the 2 outer

well .. .at the rate of 20 BBs/100 it'll only take me 1,000 hands of grinding to make this back .. about 2hrs
Need to know his stats before commenting much but at 10nl i would expect you to be crushed here 9/10.
As it is you met a rediciously bad player making an even more recicliously bad play. I hate his call with 10 10 preflop then to play it like he did with you raising utg it just terrable.
Im assuming you have a read that he calls hands like 1010 jj qq preflop then plays them like a royal flush after that. Im amazed when i see people making theese plays in cash games like this but it happens a hell of alot normally with this sort of outcome dosnt seem fair somehow does it.
Oh well better luck next time just remember with players like this the moneys only on loan there only to willing to give it back with interest a few hands later.
@chippers ... it was Rush poker so I hadn't alot on him
stats on villain were 22 hands: VPIP 22.73 / PFR 13.6 (mainly button raiser)
Also went to Showdown 100% when saw flop ....
Given he didn't hadn't raised pre-flop or on the flop, then overshoved the turn made it look like he didn't want a call ... it really looked like he's semi bluffing with overpair and a draw perhaps 88 or 99
Anyhow ... right or wrong ... that was my thought process in the 8 seconds I had to act
Pookie in a book I just read called the Poker Mindset it urges people to not worry about the losses of one big or small pot. Like you said your win rate is about 20BBs/100 hands in the long run the big and small pots should just about even out and be included in that 20BB/100 hand win rate. Sometime soon you will catch a big pot like that and win it cause thats how poker goes.
u just unlucky, at 0.05/0.10 his range well outside sets and 34/89 dismissable 99% of time unless hes a scandi as preflop action. U got QQ/JJ/1010/99/88/44 he makes that bet with u beating and AA/77/66/55 u beat by so obv u cant be too disappointed when KK gets turned over - only 6/4ish EV
i ditto what mrman says, dont worry about it, u are obv a very shrewd player and committed grinder but only thing i would say is why play rush if u got VPIP stat access??? seems an odd choice in NLHE where ring-play-stlye so varied?
As is the flop is very low (Board: ), I would have called mostly because of the cards if I had 10 10. What the player is thinking is you have two over cards and just c-betting. I would have called pretty much any bet with that flop. JMHO. XX
I've just started playing some ringgames at 10NL myself I'm not such an expert but according to Chippers this guy made an 'recicilously bad play".
Why is that?
What should be the correct play here with 1010 preflop?
It Obviously was o good flop for both hands.
Correct me if I'm wrong. As I said this is a new thing for me but I'm not mucking 10's pre here in a cashgame and postflop with such a flop it would be even harder to get away with 10's.
Personally I wouldn't blow up the pot with 1010 but that's it i geuss.
ryai3........see one of his earlier blogs........12k hands at same tables...........you do see some of the same people and they do play same way...........
that makes no sense, because you dont see every hand,,, u only see the hands that u play in,,, so u dont know how the other person has played when there are 200 people playing rush poker,,, switching tables every hand,,, and when u fold, u dont even see the hand
@ryai ... I've played close to 30k hands now and I load all of my hand histories into Poker Tracer 3. Then I run some reports and convert the data into the Full Tilts notes format ... over this number of hands I have some players having played 250+ hands against me.
You are right, in that the stats are not indicative because he might be out of possition every single time I played him and thus he may play differently to what his stats say. Or he might play 80% of the hands I don't see... so I take your point on board.
Like I said .. I had only 22 hands on him (which is way too small to be significant). What I did have was that he put money in 5 times and went to showdown 5 times.
My primary read was that no pre-flop raise = probably not Aces.
Massive over-shove looks like a semi-bluff = not a set

you can fold and check off 'sit out next hand' & it will let you sit & see the hand play out.
Also, both PT3 & HEM have made updates to accomodate Rush so that HUD will now be displayed.

Why do you hate the TT's call preflop? Would you suggest they fold there?... or 3-bet/fold in EP?? Makes no sense... please explain.

yesterday was 10s day.
Had my pkt aces snapped twice by pkt 10s...and my pkt Ks..once by pkt 10s.
"The flavor of the Day".
Well, atleast it wasn't 7/2 os...I was waiting for that one.
Definately unlucky,

Hence, it looks like an overpair with a draw.
