Yeah I think a fold was a good call. 7d and 9c isn't a strong starting hand by any means of the imagination. Also, you had 2 callers of the raise before your turn, meaning you would be up against 3 other opponents. Not that good on a weak starting hand.
That's just my opinion. Worst thing would be if you folded and then flopped a full house etc. But that's the way things go sometimes.
Of course it was a good fold.
