...I wanted to start this blog with something funny because I actually hate writing this blog.....
I went to work today and at about half past eleven I went to the bathroom and when I got back I felt a tingling in my right arm and I suddenly felt nausea coming up and colleagues saw my face going really white. I had to sit down on the ground and colleagues were holding my hand and getting me water.......
A colleague offered to take me home but I just didn't trust my legs to carry me to the car and after some discussion (and another nausea wave) it was decided that a ambulance should come, to be on the safe side, and check out if everything was allright. In the meantime I got some tea with a lot of sugar from a colleage and when I finished that I got more talkative and colour returned to my face. I explained to them that the reason for my nausea was because I was thinking about my dad (who had a heart attack about ten years ago) and when I felt the tingling in my arm.....I got afraid I had something with my heart. It was around that time when the doctor came and they took my pulse, blood pressure, oxygen levels and level of sugar in my blood. He said that all the signs of my heart were looking good and he said that I was probably on the verge of fainting. The tingling in my right arm and hand were probably caused by early signs of hyperventilating. He said I didn't have anything to worry about but to keep a check on my stress levels and if I would have this again (or more "episodes" like it) that I should go to the doctor and see if there is a cause for it. A colleague of mine took me home and I have eaten quite a bit since then and I am feeling better.....BUT.........I am going to have a little bit of a sabbatical. There are a few things that have happened in my family and at work that caused stress for me. I had some illness in my close family (and it's all good but still gotta keep a wary eye so to speak).
I will be on here maybe a few times to check on PM's and stuff like that but not much more then that. I won't be playing poker for quite a bit. I think I will be a few weeks off or maybe just a week....I am not sure....maybe it's just a question of re-charging batteries and get the stress down. I will miss y'all very much (especially a few that have become very close to me...y'all know who you are!) but I need to look after my health right now. The whole thing today at work really scared me and I am relieved that my heart is fine and nothing is going on but still I need to be wary.
As you all know I am hosting two private tournaments, one together with TUCKYBUD420 called THUMPATHONG TUESDAY and KRABB SHOP OF HORRORS. I need someone on here to take care of KRABB SHOP OF HORRORS for me. I hope someone will take off the entire hosting for me and stay in touch with PrivateTournies concerning results and stuff like that....and also make new "temporary" trophies for me. What I always do with SHOP OF HORRORS is that I request four tournaments at the same time with FULL TILT (for the entire month) and then I tell PrivateTournies that. The reason for this is that my tournament changes every week , one week it's NLHE, the next week it's Razz...and next week Omaha Hi...and so on. I wouldn't mind though if someone would make it just Hold 'Em every week or Razz ...but that's up to the temporary host. I hope someone can take over the tournament for me!
I hope y'all stay in touch with me through PM's because I will be around from time to time to check up on everybody to see if you are all still behaving! .....
.....because.......I WILL BE BACK! (you can't hold a stubborn ole donkey down!)

I would gladly help you out with your tourney but I don't know how to make trophies.

Joris you do what u need to do, and take a break. I am glad to hear that its not your heart. Dont stress yourself over what could or could not be, as that will only make it worse for you. Life is for the living so move on and live it, but take a lil break for now.
I will host the Krabb-Shop Jan 15 and 22 for you. Send me a template of the trophies and I will take care of them as well .
Joris ,Hope everything is gonna be alrite! Take some down time and get rid of the stress! Im sure things will be taken care of. In the meantime heres a pic to look at just imagine? It works ! Take care of yourself!! See ya soon!
Awww Joris....you need to worry about getting back to good health. Wish I could help you out, but I'm doing the same thing for Ron right now with 2 of his tourneys. Please get better, as I know that you will have many offers of help.
Hi Joris sorry to hear about your problems. I hope you get well soon. I will be thinking about you mainly because I just loved knocking you out your Shop of Horrors tourney. Not sure knocking a temp host out will be as much fun. So you get well soon and get back here so I can kick your butt.
On a more serious note I experienced an almost identical set of circumstances recently with my busines partner. He actually passed out and was taken to hospital with very similar symptoms. Cut a long story short he was home the next day and has been fine ever since. It was a virus that caused the problem. I hope that gives you some comfort.
First, and of utmost importance, is what everyone is saying above ^^^ in their comments - the thing to do here is to take care of yourself.
Second, and this just illustrates your commitment to Railbirds.com, is that you seem to be as concerned, if not more so, about your tournament(s) and how this sabbatical will affect us (the players) rather than your own health. Good God, man! - it is you that folks care for - the tournament can wait ...
... but it won't have to ... you have a great friend in
, who has volunteered to help. Others (this ass, for example) will join in to help her. The game will go on, but it is far, far down the priority-list. What matters is you and your health.
On that point, perhaps your dedication has contriguted to this "attack" - stress is a weird thing - and since you are / have been staying up for hours upon hours (it has not been unusual for you to pull 20-hour days, stay up until 4- or 5-am, or put 2 or 3 of these marathon-sessions together ... for months, now), and since you have been juggling 7-10 tournaments every 24-hours, often 3 at a time, and making Final Tables like a madman, it is possible that you have just worn your raggedy burro-butt out.
Listen to your body - it is trying to tell you something.
We, your friends, already know that your heart is full of love, your soul pure, and your mind ... well ... ahem ... err ... your mind ... umm ... brilliant, yet twisted (in a good way) and full of joy & fun. So we want you to do nothing more than take the best of care of yourself - body, heart, soul, and mind.
