so what do i do now?

Jan 10, 2010 7:06 pm Report Abuse

in november i came in 2nd in the pokercast game in pokerstars. i took home $160...

a short time later i finished in another 2nd place for about 200 bucks so i was up to about $330.

ever since then it was a slide down hill.. and there seems to be no way to stop it... i have been from 330 dollars now im down to $21.00... yes 21 dollars i know im terrible.....i dont play out of my bankroll.... i only play2 dollar/3 dollar games but i just seem to lose all the time... on terrible beats too.. there is no mercy.....

but i have indeed managed to build up about 270 FPP's on pokerstars.....

i think im going to use 50 of them today to play the sunday 2 grand...... but i want to know.. is this a good idea? or a waste of my money....

i also am thinking of using 20 of them to join the $1,000 guarenteed.......so tell me what do u guys think of this?

Yes play them and if you don't play well take some time off from the cards. Goodluck to you.

i feel u bro....same thing has happened to me on fulltilt....although i admit i did play out of my bankroll here and there.(26 dollar tourneys..and the 750K last week--but i sattelited into it for 7.60) with a 600-700 bankroll...but i have just had sick beats...

i ended up doing a self exclusion for a couple of days....

My advice to you would be to take a break as well...and then maybe start using your FPP to build your bankroll back up!

a break never hurts, a short break, but about the points freerolls are never bad, you just have to be patient, gl sir.

Play them or don't Play them, but when you get into that type of slump, the best advice is either to lay off for awhile or TIGHTEN UP like you do when yoiu play SNGs. Think about what your opponent might be able to hit and slow down your play so you don't rush into betting on a dry pot.

GL in the omaha game but it sounds to me like you got serious holes in your game and probably should take a break and evaluate.

There is a syndrome that happens when playing to much, a form of tilt. It is most readily noticed by the fact that the highs you used to feel playing are almost nonexistant and the beats take longer and longer to recover from emotionally ,ie harder to shake em off. In other words your just not enjoying it like you used to and the only cure is to take some time off the tables and stay away long enough to really miss it and do some things that make you feel good about you. IMO

In a nutshell it is online burn out.

Peace, BPB

I would use 210FPP to play the 1/4mil satellite.... BUT make sure you're aware of optimal strategy for cashing in it.

i find whenever you win anything big online you go on the worst run afterwards... hope its not a long one and gl in your omaha tourny , looks like things are turning up already

good post there poppaboats!!

OP.. I'm curious as to what you're using to review your play & where you're seeking out info. etc. .... in other words.. what you're doing to work on your game? Micro buyin SNG/MTT can be just awful on Pokerstars (I rarely play on there... tried 4-tabling some $5 sng's the other night... and struck out in all of them.... but mostly was kinda shocked just how bad they play on there). I know many will say... "if you can't beat the lowest micro levels you won't beat any higher ones" .... 'BUT' I found this to be untrue for myself... I have a +ROI in games $10+ but negative in the micros (of course making necessary adjustments). Personally I really just can't stand the play in the super micros.

My roll on Stars is getting a bit low as well (I play some priv. tourneys on there, but regularly transfer funds to friends so that they can play too) and have been thinking "What games could I play on there to build the ol' bankroll back up a bit?" (hence tryin' a few sng's the other night). I think I might try playing a few sessions of the DoNs (double or nothings). I've read a bunch of stuff about playing them and have watched a handful of training videos, followed HH posts, etc. and they seem like a decent way to build it up (I also read recently about one guy's experience with them... he started off with a small bankroll...(I think it was ~$25) and began playing the $1 DoNs... working at trying to add tables, multi-tabling them. He actually built it up to something like $1,500 in a couple of weeks (moving up to the $5's, and eventually 10-tabling the $10's). This got me to thinking.. "hmm... maybe I should put in some time to play a few hundred of these and see how it goes" With a bankroll the size that your's currently is... this might be a decent idea for you as well???? GL!!!

i dont know, I'm down to .15cents on ps. Thats why I came over to Flltilt and took some lessons, read some poker stuff, etc. I can tell u this much rayi!, I almost never win, place, show or even cash unless I'm having fun and keeping it a sport, a game of chess, A challenge! Yes I want to make money But if I all I think about is my buy-in or that I "have to" win, I almost always loose. If I dont cash in at least 1 outta 5, or 1in10 to break even for total investment or better, then I need a break and go back to the drawing board. GL bro.
