After some careful consideration, soul searching, and talking with my closest friend, I have asked Fool Tilt to cancel the Topcat's Terrific Turbo Tournaments that I had scheduled for Janurary, and send me the balance of my account in a check........ This Sunday the 27th of December will be the last time I play online poker for a season, and I would like to invite all who wish to play to come out and join in the game. ... Naturally without funds in my account, I won't be playing in any other private tournaments either, this is what is best for me, and we all need to do that which is best for ourselves, even when we don't really like it.

I for one understand..every game I played last night...was miles ahead till runner runner sucked out..everyhand. Just tired of it. I will be playing a few but not as many anymore.
I took my money out back around May and have played with play chips and freerolls only since then. That brought some of the enjoyment back to me.
I, for one, appreciate all you do around here.
so sorry to hear that topcat but maybe you are right and that a break might be in order....I also am on a very bad losing streak but at times feel like quitting poker altogether.....I sure hope that you will be back playing online and that your luck will change for the better.
i never played in the tctt game..out of my broll management range....but i am sure the birds who played it will be very sad too.....
we all get runner runnered bro...every single day...we all get 2 outered...every single day.....and we all know what its like to be on the other end of a runner runner or a 2 outer too...the winnin end.....
when i first came to railbirds, a little over a year ago, some of your advice blogs really helped my game...i still make misreads...lol...but i also know how to win a pot holdin kk when there is an ace on the board..
you been playin a lot longer than me tc..a lot longer...maybe the bad beats have got to ya....but one of the first things one learns in certain fields of activity is ' how to fall '......and how to get up again....
very glad ya still gonna be in the nest...we may not always see eye to eye, you and i, ...but you speak your mind, and as far as i know are the only pro rail ever to have a blog pulled for bein a naughty boy...

Sorry to read this tc. You will be a loss to online poker. I have to say I have thought about giving FT a miss for a while. Been doing great on PS but just cannot seem to get anything right on FT. Good luck.

Hmmm... First off, TY so very much for all you bring to us birdies in the nest. You are irreplacable around here , and irreplacable as a friend too.
Second is that is a great idea. I listened to a Pokercast and they talked about burn out in online play. The convenience makes it so accesible that you can play virtually any time so a lot of times we do. The problem is that there comes a point of maximum saturation, we have played so much that the high we used to feel when winning a good pot is almost nonexistant but the beats are harder and harder to shake. Like we get numb to the hi and supersensitive to the lows so it doesn't take much to put us on tilt.... that is onlie burnout. You may have it and the only cure is to walk away, at least for a good bit.
Your the man, man. Only you can really know whats best for you and I stand behind that 100% as I have had a glimpse into the heart of Topcat1954 and I know it's al solid and it's all gold and very very warm.

PS freerolling can be a blast TC, financially not as rewarding BUT not as depleting either.. just a thought for the future =0)

Hey TC - I'm sure this decision wasn't easdy for you being such a great player. I'm just bummed because I was finally getting a chance to know you a bit and see how one of the great players thinks and plays. I hope to make it Sunday for the last game. I got very upset last night and had to sign off because I have AA and push after the flop of 2 3 10 and have a guy call with Q 10 and have hit the Q on the river. QQ didn't hold up 4 times last night as well.
Anyway I will miss your game and you playing as well. But I totally understand. Hope when you come back playing - things will be better.

I read your last blog "can't take it anymore" i'm sure most of us feel the same, i think what you're doing is correct.. I had enough of FT 3 years ago, i only play the RB games (private or freerolls) with freeroll winnings, i moved my BR to pokerstars, the bad beats continue, but NO WAY NEAR as often as FT. Take a break or come join us on pokerstars for a while..
