Is Tom Dwan broke? Ppl on the rail watching the high stakes tables on FTP keep saying he is... he seems to be losing a lot lately.

I just saw this hand a few minutes ago. It was a sick beat, but DURRR has been doing this for a long time himself.

I don't think he'd be broke, seeing as how he just signed a contract with fulltilt......

dwan is not broke. they lend each other money all the time. nobody at that level wants to have all of their money on their accounts.
titler1 Nov 14, 2009 6:51 pm

those guys all do that, it's insane to keep 2, 3, or 4 mil on you account, and it takes too long to deposit that large of an amount, so they lend each other back and forth

Russdog2007 Nov 14, 2009 7:35 pm
I have always wondered how they get that much when they wont allow deposits of more than say 5,000 in a month or let you withdraw more than 5,000$ at a time. Now, I have learned something. I wouldn't want that kind of money on any online site these days especially if you live in the US.
sexy_007 Nov 14, 2009 7:56 pm
because he player at every table
philjj Nov 14, 2009 8:10 pm
Thanks for this - I've learned something new as well.

Do you think one of 'em'll lend me 300k?
XPOKERCHIC Nov 14, 2009 8:25 pm
Some questions people ask are hilarious. I think for sure he may be young, but I am sure he has invested his money somewhere. X

when they were 6-tabling the other night... there was ~3mil on the tables at one time (at one point Isildur1 had a stack of over $1mil on one of the tables.. and ~$800k on another).
Eirkur Nov 14, 2009 5:15 pm
Tom has about $5 million.
what are you basing this ^^ on? Are you in contact with his accountant? He is still up over $6mil in NLHE online but yes.. he's lost ALOT on Fulltilt this past week to Isildur1. Because he's tracked as having ~6mil profit in NLHE on Fulltilt.... does this mean he has $5mil to his name??? What investments does Tom have? How much is he up on the live cash tables (where they're exchanging $500K+ per day on a regular basis). How much does he get from endorsement deal? I'm sure he was offered some very lucrative deals and a measely $3mil is spit in a bucket to him.

Hey Russ....the high stakes guys don't have the same deposit/withdrawal rules as we do.......I know a certain red pro that takes out around $15k-$25K in one shot every month to keep his acct from getting too high.....he only keeps a set bankroll on the site.
