Yep, could have salvaged it easy but I misclicked myself into the walk of shame. You can see by my comment that I had resolved to fold. But NoooOOo had to get a case of dumbfinger =0)
First and foremost, I had no business being in this hand with a big stack. I married the idea of chipping up with it and that is where things started to get funky. His 4X BB raise pre should have been my first clue that I was up against 2 overcards at best and maybe a higher pair at worst. Couple that with the fact that he had me grossly outchipped and those JJ shoulda been mucked pre flop with the quickness.
An , yes, if I were to play this hand after his raise, the best way to do it would be to either reraise allin, or just call.
This is just a good example of a good idea gone wrong and a total misplay of the hand.
TY all who took the time to read and post. I will have these out every tuesday. Might eventually switch to a different day; or extend the time I show the result by a day to give more people time to participate.

Peace ..... it isn't just for breakfast anymore

its moments like this one that you think about why they even have J's in the deck my brother........I would fold but that would only be because later that tournament I would rip him a new one. I'm a big believer in survival in a tournament.......pay back is a *****. I get great satisfaction when the opportunity presents its self just a couple of hands later...you know when he thinks your on tilt or frustrated......I would fold and wait.

hmmmm I'll make an attempt at discussion lol
first off its the daily dollar so without any other info on defishman i'd say it smells like a steal attempt with murdaz in the big blind and a raise 4x but when he calls your re-raise instead coming over top of your raise I would probably narrow his range a bit. I wouldn't say he has a big pair (no AA,KK,or QQ) but possibly a smaller pair no bigger than 10's, any suited ace, suited face cards, possibly J10 suited & ace rag is always a possibility in the daily dollar. After the flop he either has you or he doesn't & i'd say without a read on him or his style of play i'd give him credit for at least an ace especially in the daily dollar there's a high likelihood he has one. but my instinct says call for some reason, I actually might've shoved pre-flop with because about 10k chips were already in the pot). but you did say you left yourself enough chips to let go of the jacks post-flop so i think you probably fold and waited for a better spot to double up (which a high percentage of the time is the right play to make)
Good players play the probabilities, not the possibilities, and you are probably beat here.
It's said that there are only two ways to play JJ, and they are both WRONG!

I agree with PINKBUNNIES, with some info added. If I read it correct you have position on "defishman" so his bet on the FLOP leaves you with little options; you fold. If I did the math right you need to call $25,600 to win approx. $23,000. You have approx. $18000 left BUT ONLY if you put him on a Ax, Kx, or Qx. All reasonable holdings with the call rather than re-raise.from "devilfish" Speaking of which, why such a small re-raise? $6400 gives you no information at all on his hand.
Since you are not in a coin flip; you fold. If he has a lower pair 9,9 or lower it is 87% vs. 11% win for you if you call. If he has any Ax it's a 75% vs 25% to him; you fold. Any Qx the same, respectfully. Any Kx 85% you loose. Yet against any Random hand its 70% WIN and 25% LOOSE.
You sound like you want to win so I have a funny feeling you folded but with $18000 left why would you. You left yourself with little left and the blinds going up. You need to call and hope for the best considering his position and goofy call to the re-raise. You call.
Great and astute responses so far , TY all who post.
Tonight 8:00 pacific time I will show the rest.
Peace, BPB
Well.........if you have been playing him for awhile you may have a read on his type of play, and betting style. Sooooooooooooo....
If he has been playing tight, and not trying to buy pots, I would fold. However,
If he had been playing loose and aggressive with the habit of bluffing, I would shove allin, as I would think he prolly may have a small PP or just plain crap.
Peace out

I'd probably fold after that flop, but I'd have definitely either smooth called the raise pre-flop or shoved and closed my eyes...depending on the past performance from this particular player. I mean, why put yourself through that? Fer feck sakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
