What I am going to do is show part of the hand, then later after some discussion, the results of that hand.

Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose, but did I play it right given the circumstances. I will welcome any and all criticism, kudo's and tips. Please keep it civil.

Here is a hand in which I have been card dead and have gotten short stacked so I am looking for anything remotely decent to shove with. I get what I think I should shove with.

BOOM shakalakalaka

This double up set the stage for a fairly deep run ITM.

Now some may argue I could have waited for a better spot. Having been in this scenario about a thousand times, I know that just aint so.

My thoughts are if your below 10 BB's and you get paint and connecting to paint, It's on like donkey kong. I won't go into details about my hand requirements for short stack shoving, ( a man's gotta have some secret's LOL ) but I got em and they are pretty much written in stone.

One of my worst card deads times was in the infamous and fun Gold vs Blue bird challenge in which I did manage to outlast all other blue birds. However the only reason was I was sooooo card dead. I finally had to shove it all in with 9/5 suited when I had a mere 5 BB's left as they were the best I had seen in about 100 hands. So waiting to long is bad. My red flag starts flying when I got 15 BB's left , thats when I know I have to make some moves or I will be doing the short stack nasty dance.

It is tough picking a spot when your short. Sometimes you move to soon, get busted down to a few hundred chips and the next hand you triple. Sometimes you move to late and even the double up doesn't really help get you back in the game. The best I can do is use my judgement and go with it.

Sorry I was late posting the rest of the hand. I gots me a heckofa woman now and sometimes I get wonderfully destracted, forgive me =0)

TY all who posted comments and all who peeked just to see.

Easy shove imo. You have appx 7.5bb's, so a shove makes this play +ev. GL

Prolly ok play here allthough you could consider a limp here too as there are 4-5 pretty weak stacks here and bigstacks is two after you.Limping here would give him the opportunity to either fold ,limp or raise to isolate in either case it would give you a chance to see how MANY players are interested in the hand. With super stack at the table not too many will want to be up against him no matter HOW good their hands are. If there are too many you can still bail and only lose 265 chips 1900 or 1650 Whats the difference??? And if you're gonna play them THEN play them but then you'll know who all is in!! Just a thought..................

I don't think you have the stacksize to limp/fold. As it is, you only have roughly 7.25xbb, and it's just an overall weak play to limp. By shoving, you're telling the table you have a playable hand and some will throw away tiny A's, K9sooted, hands of such

This probably the easiest shove you can make. I mean you have 7 big blinds and your M is 3. Also, the fact that you'll be in the big blind in 2 hands just makes this shove so much easier. I mean you can't really afford to go through the blinds again cuse then your at a point where if you shove you should be called a very high percentage of the time. At least here you're giving yourself a chance to either a) win the pot and take the blinds and give your stack a chance to go through the blinds again or a chance with a hand that should play decent against players calling ranges and double up. And you want a hand to call you like AK, KJ, 88, etc. A lot better hand to be against in a situation like this than an AQ, AT, KQ, TT+ type of hand. Oh, and please don't limp. You should probably never limp when there are antes (when your not in the blinds at least) but you should definitely not limp when your M is less than 5 and you have less than 10 big blinds. So just shove all day here!

the shove was appropriate. There were a lot of folds prior to your shove. Going against one is a lot better than multiple hands.

Peace out

Great move.... you can also do this with any 2 cards!!!

Reason..... If you pay attention enough you WILL absolutely, positively 99% cetain to find a spot where you have an oppponent or 2 that will fold to shoves... yes if you get called they will have a very strong hand but do this from LP time it right is obv v imortant, stack sizes have to be medium, not short and defo not big!!

Dont forget in these tournies your there to survive to the end, not the other way around so if ur getting short, stay patient, pick ur moment and if it goes against you then at least u know you did ur best!!
