My AA cracked by K9

Well its starting to seem like it never fails... *FT special*

I entered a $3 rebuy tourny this morning, in which i wasnt doing to bad... It was a rebuy though which proves to be a bit more of a grind being people can hang around through level 6. Well after the break there was no more rebuys allowed, i was on the big blind with just under 10k in chips... 2 people had called the big blind and it came to with Railbirds card: AhRailbirds card: Ad i raise 3 times the blind and both of em call... flop comes Railbirds card: ThRailbirds card: 4hRailbirds card: 2d with a pot of around 1000 chips i bet into it 600... quickly called by the person to my left, and the small blind folds. turn comes blank Railbirds card: 9c, and dude pushes all in and he has me covered... i pretty much put him on a set maybe 10s maybe 4s, but im not gonna be able to get away from this... after calling time and weighing my options i make the call, which turns out to be a brilliant call (on a 20k chip pot), turns into the ultimate dissaster all in one... I make the call, he turns over Railbirds card: KhRailbirds card: 9habsolutely no made hand what so ever, and of course river heart to send me to the rail!!

I got to thinkin if i pushed all in preflop i may have won the hand right there and atleast won the blinds and a few bets... so probably played poorly on my part, but thats poker take the good with the bad i guess...

Definetly a swell kick in the nutz though thats for sure!! lol

you played correctly, cant help the idiots that dont play correctly. I got aces cracked at another site by K2 off suit!! played all most identical to the way you did, only i was first to react, when i bet 75 percent of the flop, which had a K in it, he reraised all in, i called thinking he may have a set or possibly AK, turn came a 2 and he wins with 2 pair, got to be kidding me. Get tired of hearing in here of oh well you can still lose 30 percent of the time to that hand, ah bs, yea if you deal the cards out millions of times and EVERYTIME that hand is played against them, but most times that hand is folded, so how does it just so happen this hand is in the percentage?

Tough break but you summed it up well at the end. You definitely should have raised more pre-flop. Three times the big blind after two people limp in is definitely not enough for people to get off those drawing type hands. He didn't make a bad push on the turn either because he made a pair plus the re-draw to the flush. If you had say A-Q he was making a good play to take the pot down but he got a little unlucky to run into a better hand but, as it is anywhere, the river can bail you out.

he did have a hand. pr of 9s & alot of outs "IF" he was behind...no reason to believe you had anything .

plus YOU put him on a set....that means your behind.

you played it well...he got lucky

p.s. he probably would of called you preflop...its FTP and soooted.

I have found after 4 years on Full-o-donks.com. That no matter what you raise, they will look at your raise and the pot as an opportunity to suck out, because they all think they are better than everybody else and will go to any lengths to prove it by calling any raise with anything and they end up winning. Because online poker is set up for the worst player to end up winning. It keeps the good players playing and the bad players thinking they are good players. My advice: BUY A BOWLING BALL and join the PBA

I've had the same problem recently of not raising enough. Maybe a pot size bet on the flop would do it.

It's not fun to have rockets shot down. Mostly because we all tend to rely on them too much. It's just a pair, and may not hold up once the other cards come.

I think you played this hand well enough. You were trying to milk a few more chips out of it and it backfired is all. A bigger raise preflop, or a massive one on the flop might have done the trick, but who knows. As they say, with AA, you tend to win either a small pot or lose a big one.

I'd bet that most of us reading have had even more painful beats today, bigger hands than a pair getting bested. And I bet most of us have sucked out on the river a coupla times. The hand is not over until the river card lands.

Sympathies though. AA always does look so pretty preflop. And, if things go right, and it's heads up on the flop, they do often hold up. Just not every time.
