I just received a very sad pm from BlackhorseACR. He has lost his Rudy to cancer just now. I know how it feels to lose a loved one (pet) and I will try to help him in any way that I can, but that doesn't make this any easier for my friend Lee. I really think our comments and support will help him get through this. Please show him your support and love. Rudy, YOU WILL BE MISSED and LOVED forever!

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I just snuggled my dog and told him a gazillion times how much I love him and what a good boy he is.....he's 13 and only getting older and I cherish each and every day that I still have him here with me. Because I know that can and will change soon. So, I truly do symphathize.

I am so sorry for your loss. You gave him a good life, cherish his memory. He is now at comfort and free of pain.
I know just how you feel blackhorse, I lost my cat who was with us for nearly ten years to cancer and Bob thought he was a dog too!! Dante ( my border collie ) played with him as a friend and we all miss him around the house and on the walks!!!
You just get so emotionally attached to your pets that they become like one of the kids!!! And when they go its heart wrenching!!
