In my local news.... CLOSED!

Jun 9, 2009 5:27 pm Report Abuse

Employees and customers found the doors locked at a huge bowling alley and entertainment complex in Elkhorn on Monday.Workers were told in the morning that Thunder Alley was closing indefinitely. But some employees didn’t get the word. Alex Rockwell, 20, said he found out he didn’t have a job when he showed up for work Monday evening.Customers said they were surprised to find the doors locked. When they called the main phone number for the bowling alley, a recorded message informed them the business was closing without giving an explanation.KETV NewsWatch 7 left several phone messages with the owner of Thunder Alley, Ted Baer, but those calls weren’t returned.

So... there goes that job! I got a call from my boss yesterday morning letting me know that when he got to work there were closed signs on all the doors. I had worked all day on Sunday and no-one said a word to me! I guess when our paychecks bounced last week (which let me say they did make it right).... that should have been my first clue but I am still somewhat shocked! It all happened so fast!

Wow that really sucks. But I can't say that I'm surprised. Recreational and entertainment related stuff is going to be hit the hardest in this economy. Bowling alleys and movie theaters and that sort of thing are some of the most likely places to close these days. Just not a good time to be in that kind of a business.

oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that and it is terrible the way they treated you all, shame on them, hang in there, times are tough but with hard work and dedication, we will get through them. Keep ya chin up and good luck in ya search.

Sorry to hear that hon. Being unemployed SUCKS...but sometimes can actually be a good thing. I lost my job last October, but it finally got me motivated to go back to school and get a degree.

Instead of a loss, consider this a new beginning. It sounds corny, I know...but it really DOES help. Attitude is everything. GL hon. *HUGS*

I do have 2 other jobs lined up... when the paychecks "bounced".... I sent out my resume and got 2 other job offers so I am fine (I think) but was counting on working there a couple days a week still for cash tips!
wombli777 Jun 9, 2009 6:02 pm
Thank you everyone!

I really feel for you. That was a crappy way to lose your job. I recently lost mine too. The company I worked for sent it to Monterrey Mexico. They even had our people train them too. I hope you have an easy time finding a new job.
KICKIN_ACES Jun 9, 2009 6:09 pm

WOW sorry to hear about this unfortunate situation happening to you & everyone else who worked there.
