dont think I would have even called the blind in your position with that hand . but I lose alot so dont listen to me if you want to win. SEO

not much to analise here, you just made some marginal moves that didn't pay off. If you think you are better than your competition though, you should avoid these marginal moves

What you did wrong with those hands is played them. Your second hand was acceptable because you were short stacked. But that first hand what are you doing raising at a full table with QJ from under the gun and then pushing when you miss the flop?

I have to agree with everyone else, QJ is not a great hand and I wouldnt of called let alone raise with it in your position, then to push allin when all you had was a J high flush draw, I dont understand that move personally, the 2nd hand I understand your push being short stacked, better luck next time,tc and gl on the felts

Yeah....You shoulda even considered those bets......limping and folding were the best ideas

When you went all-in in the first hand, what did you think you had? for that matter why in the world would you raise the 8000 preflop on J-Q off suit? A simple check with your J-Q off suit was pretty likely to let you see the flop for free, If not, and your opponent raises some ridiculous amount like 8000 you fold and wait for a playable hand. Honostly I dont understand why either of you would pay so much on high cards? But I would be courious what kind of notes they had on you before this hand?. If anyone has figured out how much you over play hands like this, they will be calling you a lot!

And now that I've seen the second hand I would suggest re-reading the above answer..... As long as you keep doing everything in your power to get all your chips in on any 2 cards you are going to find yourself on the losing end of them

I have no problem with the second hand at all , given your chip stack a call and limp and hope to hit the flop is absolutely not an option there lol , you can't just give 4 K away there for free when you're that short stacked ,

in the first hand raising to 8K with your chip stack and your QJ off suit out of positon is a problem , it was a total flip , he got lucky , you didn't , I like to get my money in better than 50/50 , gl

I think evenone has hit the nail on the head with this one.....1st move was poor, if you wanted to steal the blinds you have got to have a tight table image to make a move like that...did you??? And if you are in a position to make that move the raise should have been more, with your stack size it would have had to be an all-in move.

2nd.....correct move but you had to gamble being so short. You shouldn't have been in that position in the first place though.

Peace

Ok 2nd hand nothing to do, you were in the bb and had 1600 left it was autopush preflop.

But the 1st hand was rather badly played. The blinds are pretty high, 2K and 4K, and you only have 25K stack, so 6BB. Your 1st to act, UTG, and you only minraise, while you shouldve shoved there. You need blinds desperatly and 2 picture cards will certainly do it! You can opt to fold too, but then your in the BB next hand and have only 17K left when they pass you. But calling or minraising is def the worst option in my book.

Oh and a lot of players tend to forget that QJ is a pretty bad hand, and easily dominated. If you had a healthy stack, its an instafold in early position.

Being UTG was a bad place to play QJo. And then chasing the flush for most of your chips was a bad decision too. Should have cut your losses. The second had I think was just plain old bad luck. It happens.

i personally wouldnt of played the 1st hand at all and i wouldve probably folded the 2nd as well, i probably would of played the 2nd had it been suited but i would of folded both and waited for a better hand...just because its your bb doesnt mean u have to play it....peace and gl at the tables

What they said.......

QJ just not that good of a starter buddy...particularly out of position
Roadbob Jun 8, 2009 5:39 am

The first hand I would have just mucked. Too easy for someone to have a hand that dominates it. You'll then have bad position and if you hit one of your cards and get called, you'll have no idea where you are at. One other thing about the first hand, your stack is low enough that you don't have enough chips left behind to scare anyone if you raise preflop. In that situation, you should either move all in or fold.

Second hand, you had already put most of your chips in, only thing you could do was put in the rest and hope to get lucky. Unfortunately it wasn't your day.

Just my opinion, hope it helps.
