BR MGMT QUESTION

May 2, 2009 1:06 am Report Abuse

Ive been satellitin into MINIS left n right, probly seating into 20-25%(give or take). The problem Im havin with this is seein my BR go down. I know I can withdraw from em if it gets too bad. Im still not playin outside of it, but does any1 have the same problem lookin at ur BR start to dwindle? Any suggestions how to get out of that mindset? Any advice at all on that type of situation would be helpful. I think one thing may be to start playin more of my $3 90-man KOs that i like n maybe some cash games while Im satelliting.

THANX IN ADVANCE

COUGH COUGH

Very good question - I play alot of the token games, and try to build them up for later use. Doing so means that I see my BR dwindle down - it is a bit of a commpromise really, however, after I stack up on toekns, I then go back into SNG mode and build up my BR (or at least try to). As I said it is a compromise, but can easily be achieved. GL in the MINIS mate. Cheers

I will never try not to attach myself to a certain outcome. If I do I will see my bankroll go down as well. Therefore, I will pay much more attention to the direction I am heading; getting into a mini ftop would be nice, but it may not be correct for my bankroll. Afterall, if it's right for my bankroll then I just buy into it and not worry about any satellites.

So, here's what I do. I will try for a satellite which falls within my bankroll criteria and do my best to win. If I lose, i will not allow myself another opportunity unless I have made up the lost amount via SnG's or ring games. In this way I keep mysel honest and won't go crazy trying to qualify. Many times even if I make it into a big tournament I will unregister, and buy into a smaller tournament. Remember, your two most important goals to achieve is to win and don't go broke doing it.

Time to stop and play elsewhere or take a break.Wait until your good luck comes back.

As long as you are still at (or above) the bankroll you started with when you began doing the satellites, technically you're bankroll isn't down. If you started with $230 in cash and currently have $200 in cash and $90T then you are ahead.......it's no different than if you preregistered for those events with cash--the cash tied up would still be considered part of your bankroll as long as you can unregister from the event.

If you haven't already done it, sign up for the "FTOPS Challenge" Every satellite you win gives you points toward special freerolls. And these:

FTOPS Million Dollar Challenge

Make the money in at least 17 FTOPS events to win the $1 million grand prize!

MiniFTOPS $100K Challenge

Make the money in at least 17 MiniFTOPS events to win the $100K grand prize!

are nice incentives too.

theyre doin the same thing for the minis as well, already in 3 FRs for satellitin into 4 of em, 1 more n I max out those ones, then just the ones during the games.
