First off, I LOVE my clan!
The MONSTERS are a group of people like I never had even dreamt of to meet online! They are caring, helpful, friendly, supportive, and some of them are true angels walking the earth! And on top of that, they love poker like I do! What more could anyone ask for?
Thank you all, my fellow team mates, for all that you did and still do for making our clan the family it is to me! YOU ALL ROCK!
Now to the topic of this blog...
Nowadays I see some comments of people who obviously don't like the idea of clans within Railbirds, saying 'clanning' against each other would divide us. For these people I have a question:
What else is Railbirds than a huge CLAN?
'Clan' is - like 'team', 'squad', or 'group' - just another name for a community!
And there is something else that these people don't understand: We are not clanning AGAINST each other! We are having fun... WITH each other!
All the 'clan battles' are only friendly and respectful competitions, and every single member always plays the best poker he/she can in them. It's fun to have the bragging rights after a won battle - but of course we all still want to make the money, too! We all strive to do our best without breaking any of the rules!
AND WE DO NOT CHEAT!
And of course all members of all clans are aware that we are part of something bigger... Railbirds!
Clans are not only groups of people put together by coincidence. We share more than only the love of poker with each other. Most of the clans have a certain 'motto' or 'theme' and birdies choose their clan because they think it is the clan which fits best to their own likings.
Every single birdie has the opportunity to get to know the people within the clan and see if he can get along with them. It is not necessary for anyone to join a clan. Nobody is forced to do this, nor to stay in a certain clan if he thinks he chose the wrong one.
And sometimes we even make friends for a lifetime!
In a community as huge as Railbirds it is unavoidable that some people will gather in smaller groups! And this is not to form an 'elite' or anything like that - it is just group dynamics!
Every try to avoid or prevent this will inevitably fail!
To make up rules or set limits for the number of clans will take away something from Railbirds which makes it so special and fun - but it will not prevent groups to be formed!
Not long ago RB stated that clans are not a part of the community, so why now special rules for them? The rules are good as they are - taking care of the actions of individuals. The groups - however they are called - will take care of themselves because of the same dynamics which lead to their forming!
Drama blogs and posts concerning clans can't be such a big problem - they can be deleted like all the drama blogs and posts before! There is no need to remove a whole clan because of the action of a single person!
We all know, Railbirds is NOT about clans!
But please...
DON'T USE A SHOTGUN TO KILL FLIES!

Very nicely put baby, I am in total agreement with u and lol @ uncle bob.
MONSTERS ROCK!!!
I'll add my two cents' worth quickly (before the blog gets deleted!)
Being in a clan has only served to enhance the Railbird experience for me. In addition to all of the great people I meet at the tournaments, I have a family of very close friends to boot! The additonal clan tournaments, from tiny through the RBCLs and BOTCs, add greatly to my overall enjoyment of Railbirds.
If there are people who have a problem with clans, what possible harm are we doing to you? If you don't like us, ignore us, and let us have our fun.

Well even though I agreed that the original blog from AZZJAC should have been published. It was because I thought it was a good way to show to leaders and members alike, that our actions do reflect on others that our in clan/group/family and to act accordingly.
Thank you for this post Seldric.
