How to win at micro no limit cash games

Firstly lets talk about a common myth.

Many ebooks and training courses talk about beating a poker game by using such evocative language such as “ripping up the table” or “destroying your opponents”.

The real point of poker is to come out with positive equity after thousands of hands, instead of just “destroying” one table. You will need to play tens of thousands of poker hands on any given limit to find your big blind per hour ratio. This leaves winning one table a very small part of the puzzle.

Your success at online poker rests on your plays on marginal hands and overall decisions. “Ripping Tables” is not the language of a poker player who understands that it is the long term cumulative effect of many good decisions that decide your win rate.

So, with that said and done, how can you win CONSISTANTLY at micro no limit cash games?

You will often get very frustrated at the micro limits is you dont understand the basic dynamics about how the game is played and the external influences that can dramatically alter the table make up.

What you need to know

Most good players know that their first main decision is picking the right table for them, and often one that bad players get very wrong.

However in the micro game table selection is not as important as playing in position. Table selection is a skill that can only be learned after you understand why you should play in position and for that reason I cite playing in position as being the most important skill needed to beat the micro cash game.

Position is key if you want to make profit at micro no limit cash games.

Players at these limits are often very silly and make numerous mistakes. If you are a micro cash game player yourself then you need to keep beating the game and building your bankroll to start climbing the limits. You can only do this by capitalising on the players mistakes and reducing the amount of errors you make at the table.

Along with this you need to be able to manage your bankroll effectively. Although you may be able to make a few deposits to even out your bankroll, does not mean you should do it. Hopefully after your visit at our site you won’t be doing that.

At this level of play, you need around 50 buy-ins of your chosen level to make sure you don’t keep repleneshing your bankroll.

Mastering playing in position and bankroll management are the two keys to unlocking the micro cash game.

Put what you have just learnt into practise.

Position and bankroll management are interlocking factors in your success at the micro cash game. This is why:

If you play out of position you are losing countless amount of chips for no good reason. You should always buy-in for the maximum so when you finally get your big hand it will pay off. Don’t be tempted to play the short stack game, it is the short stacks that will be donating to your great hands.

By playing in position you always get to fold if the heat gets turned up. Calling with trash in bad position is often the difference between a winning and losing player.

By playing in position and stop donating to the pot, you will find your won hands % rise and your bankroll at the same time. This will transform you into a losing player to break even or break even into a winning player.

When this happens you begin to realise that even though you are continually getting your chips in with a big lead you can often get outdrawn and with so many players prepared to get their chips in you can repeatedly find that your Aces get cracked and your sets turn to dust on the turn and river.

This is the key factor in having a bankroll big enough to deal with bad beats. The luck will even out and you need money for when the cards are favouring you. A bankroll is the best defence against those bad players.
